exchanging a phone

Jedi

does it cost verizon money when a customer exchanges a phone several times within the 30 day test drive period? or does the phone company (LG, Motorola etc....) eat the cost....sorry if this is a stupid question 🙂

As an agent we have to eat the price of the phone unless it is defective and we can send it back, otherwise we have to resell the phone in the store, if its scratched we have to discount it heavily or sell it on ebay, I hate people exchanging the phones, there goes most of the profit when we have to resell it.

all you have to do is tell them the phone "reboots by itself" and they will exchange your phone every time....lol i remember buying a phone one day, going to the movies.....when i came out of the movies it was raining and i dropped my phone (didn't get too wet) but loosened the hinges a little so i gave them the old reboot excuse the next day for a fresh new phone 🤣

When I was a manager at Pizza Hut we had this one jerk who never paid for an order while I was there. Never. Because of the ol' "Satisfaction Garaunteed" BS. In fact it got to the point that when I saw him call in (everyone knew when he called to pass it on to a manager) I placed his order...verified it with another person listening in, I made his order, I cut his pizza, I delivered his pizza, I made sure he checked his order at the door. When I got back he had called in and said his pizza was cold and wanted his next one free...again. I called him back, I told him that he checked his order at the door and everything was fine. The customer said, "hey, I will never be satisfied, so why try, just give me my pizza when I call and save you...

You are the reason we have had to tighten down our return policy so much. If we can't duplicate the problem, we don't take it back. Simple as that.

Ok...why not tap into my neighbor's cable tv? Why not take a pen or two from work? Why not hide an item from a large department store and leave with it? I mean, the cable company make tons of money...your employer makes tons of money off of you...and you buy alot of stuff from that department store, surely they wouldn't miss one item...

Your posts already meant very little to me...now you have ZERO credibility...

obviously i am not getting anywhere with this...if the phone is rebooting itself right after you get it then yeah it should be exchanged and that is at the manufac. expense, what i was saying is if you drop your phone in water then you are not always going to get away with an exchange...

That is how they are shipped from repair. Even our repair department (as an agent, not a cor store) has spare boxes and screen protectors.
Right off the back of the FRU pamphlet:

"If you choose to exchange your phone, the phone you recieve may be refurbished equipment. Once you have exchanged your phone, we will not be able to undo the exchange and return your original phone to you. If you have difficulty with the refurbished phone, Verizon Wireless will replace it with another refurbished phone."

did you read my prev msg? there are a ton of people that do the same thing, and that is why now customer service and the stores have received communication that the damaged phone needs to be thouroughly inspected and the issue needs to be determined and duplicated and has to be deemed a "warranty" issue in order for the phone to be replaced...the communication also pointed out to all employees of vzw that the fru program that we have in place is a big advantage to our competition, but if things keep going the way they are going (people getting new phones that they do not deserve) then the program will no longer be offered in other words you will be left to deal directly with the manufactuer...have fun sending your phone in and waiting weeks...

ok and like i said when they take the battery cover off and the liquid damage strip is red or removed because you think you can outsmart the tech by removing the strip then your little game is up hope you have insurance and i know that you are just trying to piss us off, but seriously everyone thinks they can get away with something, but that is okay again when the prices and the surcharges go up then technically you are paying for all those phones and everyone elses

I think online ordering must be different as I have had 3 different phones in the last 2 1/2 months. The Samsung 320 for about 2 weeks, then the 9400, and presently the 8700 (great camera). I am sending it back too and may wait a while for the new latest and greatest.
I was told by CS that as long as I went back to my old phone in between all the trials that I could do this, and I have.
