is there now (or recently discontinued) a motorola phone for vzw that compares to the samsung a650 or similar? I know plenty of people that use the t730 and have had no problems... but it is discontinued awhile ago... not sure if i trust samsung/audiovox or lg ....like nokia but want something smaller ..
I guess i just remember the early days of audiovox/samsung electronics... cheap and icky ... lg is just ... dunno!

Dude, I don't know what Samsung used to be like, but nowadays I think you can trust them... my Sammy 530 has had zero problems.

Sure, you could hold out for new Moto like the v260 to be released for VZW, but you might be waitin' awhile.

The fact is that right now LG and Samsung make the best Verizon phones, period. Jimmy, your allegiance to Motorola is misguided, trust me. Don't ever buy a Motorola that starts with the letter "T". The T730 is really hardly any different than the T720, which is possibly the worst phone ever made. The V60s is an okay phone, but does not have a color screen. The current Audiovox phones are actually okay also, except for the 8600.

I had the T720 which made a great paperweight. The T730 worked great for a year and a half. I recently bought the V710 and haven't had a problem yet. (knocking on my desk as I say that)

I'm not saying that the 730 wasn't an improvement, but its kind of like taking a turd (the 720) and decorating it with glitter and construction paper. 😛

I dont understand why you people talk so badly about the T720/730 my brother has had that phone for about a year and a half, and he's not a single problem with it, was he lucky? why you hate that model so much! I'm just curious!

yeah, he is. I had the 720 for 5 months and had 4 express exchanges; It would freeze up; shut off or get no signal all the time; the software was screwed up; the 730 was a decent improvement on that; some people even have the 720 with new software because mechanicly the two phones are identical

Anxio,

Collectively the VZW community has had nothing but issues with the motorla T7220/T730 series phones.

We sell ALOT of LG, Kyocera, Audiovox and Motorola phones. The highest rate of return/repair/exchange/defective phone is the motorola T720/T730. VZW as a company on the whole has (this is speculation) sold more LG phones than any of the others. Again that is speculation but considering that 95% of their promo material has the LG series phones on it....

Want to laugh? I was taking back the motorola T720 series type phone from AT&T back when I was working Circuit City. Same issues that plague the VZW T720/T730. We're talking probably a good 1-2 years ago now.

yes i agree with you guys, listen to us when we say that the T series from Motorola rank in the top 3 of worst phones ever made. My first verizon phone was the LG VX6000, the best phone i have ever had, i upgraded to the 7000 which so far is even better. I have also had luck in the past with Samsung, those are also good phones. Kyocera is iffy, audiovox may be redeeming themselves with the 9900 and Motorola is the bane of my existence. Although the 710 is on its way to gaining a speck of my trust.

I agree, the Bluetooth and camera problems aside, when I am in a VZW store the 710 always has more bars of service than other phones (that is unless there is a tower next to the store). To me that is one of the most important things to look for in a phone
