😎 Right on cookie monster! 😲 Thanks
...
It looks nice wfine you going to order one?
...
Dunno, was thinking it was going to have a memory card but looks like thats a nogo, at least if it is its not in the user manual.
So the only realy upgrade is bluetooth, so im not sure.
...
Put some D'z on da whipp 🤣
...
without SD its just a jalopy with spinners
...
ah, thanks for "whitning" it down for me 🤣
...
lol @ both you crackers!!
Chris "the token Black guy of phone scoop"
...
Im looking forward to it! However it's not VCast, No Memory Card... Call it an upgrade because it has bluetooth, but it's a downgrade in features and services.....
...
Any idea on a launch date? My sisters hubby wants this phone.
...
Most people dont use the memory card and especially vcast (especially the target market of this phone, construction workers, people with outside jobs, people around water), hopefully this will help bring down the cost of the phone, $299 for the original completely killed the sales of it.
...
thats a good point about the price point...but not putting vcast in a phone thats somewhat of a high end phone was a mistake in my opinion.
Chris
...
My husband works construction, and fully utelizes the mp3 player on his 8100. He could use a much more durable phone, but why not offer the VCast feature so they can use all that too? I mean, VZW is all about getting the users down to 1 device... Construction workers don't need camera's, extra memory for the photo's, or music? They use those things quite a bit.... Especially when there's no power on the jobsite yet. But, I guess you can't win them all.
...
Yes the phone will have a memory card slot, it takes the micro sd card, and the slot is under the battery inside the phone. 😁
...
🤨 Where did this information come from?
...
Thats the same thing I had heard, however after reading the enitre user manual I didnt see anything in there about it, I really hope your right, otherwise Ill be sticking to the Type V
...
Nobody is even going to guess which phone im talking about..... 🤣
...
Which phone belongs to those specs LOL
...
What is Infomanager? Where can we view the user manual? Release date? Price? etc. etc. etc.
...
Infomanager is only available to VZW employees, not going to get in trouble over release dates or pricing here.
...
I will answer for you wfine...
It is the Type-S version of..
The G'zone..
Bluetooth capable..a bit different design which is much better compared to the original and a great new color too...
...
Yeah, it was a joke, I dint want to post anything to specific since it hasnt been released yet
...
it will be in about 2 weeks I would guess..
at least to online and retail..might be a another few weeks for us...
...
What other phone have gunny and army been drooling over? That's the only phone either has talked about for months......
You guys are so cute.
...
What did it say? I tried the link and it said the page was down. Right now I really want to hold both phones (V and S) in my hands and see which one I like. To me it sounds like they butchered this phone and the only difference is the bluetooth. If that's the case I might go with the V instead just because I don't use bluetooth and by the time they make me, my NE2 should be up again. And I can get the V for free. The websites made the S look so cool with the different themes and looks you could do but the new pics that came out of the actual phone look quite boring. I'm not getting this phone due to looks (I work outside most of the time) but I have a V60 right now and something a little more flashy would be nice.
...
Thanks for getting back so quick. Is this the same link as the one I couldn't get before? I can't believe I waited all this time and should have gone with the first one. I still want to hold both in my hands. I doubt there is a place on the web where we can compare the two spec wise is there? I think the V had the vcast option and the S didn't say anything about it.
...
🤣 🤣 🤣 I jsut looked and I don't even get vcast coverage where I live here in texas. Dallas is the only area in that state that gets it.
...
Wow. I have VCast in podunk, Wyoming. I'm surprised it's not in Houston.
...
Yeah I just don't want it anymore...smaller screen, no evdo, ugly blue, no mini, whats the point 😢 good luck with your choice but for overall durability type V wins...
...
I might follow you on that. I am pretty dissappointed at what verizon did to it. Why would anyone go through a phone like that and rape all the extras out of it? Do they think our minds will explode if we get something that can come in different colors or has themes you can change or extra features like the compass. I am glad they took the compass out I might only watch the phone and walk right off the building, Dumb 🙄 . I almost want to change carriers but it still has the best coverage around here. As for Vcast I live in austin and you would think that the state capital would have it.
...
Well, i wouldn't have a problem if they added the Type S and sold it alongside the Type V. I would agree this is not an upgrade, but rather a different demographic. It would be dumb to discontinue the Type V.
...
Hey Army! I thought that those extras didn't matter? To quote your post in another thread:
"Guy your looking at this all wrong if you're considering purchasing the G'zOneTS , you don't do it because it has 2mg camera...its not a multimedia phone/MP3 player ... you buy it because you need a phone that wil withstand harsh conditions.
go for the maxx leave the MILL spec phones for those that really need them!
O and fyi the 2meg camera on the type-v is nothing special"
I guess you've had a change of heart about the Type S now? LOL!!!!
dd.

Yeah I remembered that post even when I was writing that one, and today I want it 🤣
after-all I was right 🤣

This was never intended to be a MILL spec music phone, yes I agree its lame not to included EVDO but by no means a deal breaker for most, especially not for me. It still has added blue tooth, smaller size with much sleeker body, cool antenna, and I like the blue! If they held to the same build quality standards this should be a very nice basic MILL spec phone.
...
I see what your saying but if it already had extra options on it then why don't they just leave that stuff in there? Like I said before I just need to have both phones in my hands and pick that way
...
They took it off to lower the price of the phone im sure, try selling a $300 phone to some construction worker that makes $8/hr
...
If I were Casio, this is how I would set the G'zOne lineup:
G'zOne Type B: Mill spec, black+white screen, VERY BASIC
G'zOne Type H: Mill spec, 2.0 mp camera, Bluetooth, EVDO (vcast), microSD
G'zOne Type P: Mill spec, PDA phone, Windows Mobile, EVDO, Bluetooth, miniSD, 1.3 mp camera, wifi
...
WB,
Nice options...but in your type B i would never have a phone with black and white...i really dont think it would even affect price that much anymore.
And I would have your pda phone run palm, but thats just personal preference
A rugged, reasonably sized pda would be awesome!
Chris
...
Heres why it's black and white: Because it's much easier to read in sunlight. Good for construction workers.
And Windows Mobile smartphone would be best because it doesn't have a toucscreen so it has less chance of breaking.
...
both, very valid points sir.
...
I'm not 100% for sure but I got an email yesterday from the guy at the verizon store (acutal employee) that I have been talking to and he said, "The G'z One type-s should be in stores by May 1st". I emailed him back asking if the type-V would be there also so I can look at both. That email hasn't been returned yet. So we should know in a couple of weeks hopefully to see if this is a truely great rugged phone or that we hyped it up way to much and will be dissapointed when it comes out. 🙂
