I got my hands on a bunch of unlocked cdma phones...this phone is really awesome. I was reading some of the complaints that cricket and metro pcs users were saying, and i have found none to be true. Honestly, i hope when verizon actually releases it, they won't cripple it too much, but i love it!

When I tried to activate a CDMA phone that was not verizon wireless branded they tried doing it, but the said if it was not verizon branded that they would not activate it because the esn was not in there system!

I did it online when i logged into my account, and clicked activate new phone. Of course they are gonna tell you that, because they are not making money on you when you do that. Just like if you call motorola, they will tell you that unlocked/unbranded phones don't work. Yet i have several of them, go figure...why would i lie?? If i could post a pic and show you, i would. I'm just letting people know, that this phone is KICK ASS!!!

This will work because Verizon will offer the SLVR L7C. The ESN for the SLVR is loaded in the system probably for test purposes.

So things like The Razr V3C, V3M, KRZR K1m on other networks might also be able to be activated on VZW network, but if you looking to activate a Sprint Sanyo phone or an Alltel AX390, this will not work. Since Alltel is getting the LG VX8600 aka AX8600 (different colors) maybe those variants will work on VZW networks, but I notice that LG puts in the color with the ESN where motorola does not.

I had a customer try to activate an LG VX6100 from US Cellular and it wouldn't work. It was the exact same phone Verizon has/had. EROES wouldn't do it and when I called in they attempted but the system wouldn't take it.

I think LG has a method to their ESN's when you load a Mint Chocolate, it shows a 8500G and White 8500W. So Verizon probably only loads the ESN it's supposed to have. Loading a Motorola K1M white, Fire, or other just shows K1M... same with the V3C and V3M's of different colors. So maybe other Moto's will work and Some LG will not. I've loaded an US Cell VX4500 on an acct but it wont OTA and the Unlock code is not 000000.

Where did you obtain this phone? I've been trying to get an unlocked CDMA phone (read SLVR) and have been told repeatedly that they don't exist. Even motorola reps said that.

🤣 🤣 🤣 I had that phone exactly a year ago (Cingular of course) I gave it to my sister in May. Ever since then I've had 2 other phones... 🤣 and Verizon hasn't even released the thing WoW! 🤣 🤣

Enjoy the phone though. It'll get old very quickly.

See I don't think it will get old because it is so different than anything Verizon currently offers. And the full obex is awesome, not to mention no hideous Verizon UI. I think I am gonna stick with Verizon for a while now that I got my hands on this phone. Plus I just got the 17% employee discount, so things are looking up... 😉

It may be possible. I can see if a consumer goes through Motorola foe an warranty issue and send the VZW customer, or and network customer an unlocked phone. If there were to be any issues, you're have to go back to the manufacture and wait for the phone to be mailed again. I've seen some Japanese or Korean Toshiba and Nokia phones active on Sprint's network. Don't know how it was done, but it was. There's always going to be some kind of exploit. Please post a picture.
