I don't think there is really a demand for that feature. Do you really need to see the face of the person you are talking too? I know I don't.

Need? No. Want Yes! Have you heard of web cams? they are great so my mom across the country can see her grand daughter or maybe a long distance relationship. or have you ever heard the term face to face. it's nice to be able to see someone when your talking to them. I've been saying for a while now this needs to happen but then the industry took a turn for all this TV crap. which personally i will never use. but i think this is more profitable for the carriers than video calling would be, and thats why they went in this direction.

i think its a high possibility once evdo rev a is deployed nationwide, but before verizon would even consider that, cingular, tmobile and sprint would all have to have established 3g networks up and running nationwide

think about how many adds verizon would have if they started video calling. I'd say 20% of the people in the US are either deaf or hard of hearing. Both my parents are deaf, they would pay a ton for the phone and service. If Verizon got in on it early and positioned it as a way for the deaf population to communicate while away from home, they could add millions of adds and video calling features.
