Checking a battery.....
Ok I have heard that the way to tell if a battery is bad you can spin it on the counter and if its bad it will spin and if its not it won't... so when I first heard this I was like ok thats got to be a lie...but I tried it today and it works...at least it seems like it so far. Does anyone know anything more about this? Why does it do this or is this just a coincedence?
Thanks a lot.

when a battery goes bad it swells in the middle a bit, which would cause the spinning. some batteries do it better than others, its in relation to the size and shape of the battery itself.

This actually primarily is only useful for LG 6100/4750/5000 batteries there have been a lot of them swelling in the middle and they are bad if this happens. Even in retail stores with Battery analyzers they can test out good but they do not hold a charge very well. There have been very few batteries otherwise that this is evident. I would say that there are probably 20-30 of these batteries swapped out a week in most stores. 😎

those older nokia batteries did it too, but yeah, shape and size play a factor, the motorola v60 batteries swelled more than any other battery i have ever seen too.

We call 'em "pregnant" batteries around here, and ask the customer if they have been letting other people use their phone. You would not be shocked at the number of people who don't get that joke.
LG's of all model numbers have been doing that, usually after 8-15 months of hard use. 4750's within a few months sometimes.
