SO I went to AT&T with my sister to upgrade her phone this weekend, ok before any of you say anything, my parent's have had AT&T for like 5 yrs and refuse to switch service until they get booted off.
ok, so they have an $18 upgrade fee! HAHA...are you kidding me? Our customer's would FREAK out!! I can't believe that they charge you to upgrade your phone and sign another 2 yr commitment! That's a crock! How many times have I heard well aren't you going to offer me a better deal since I'm a returning customer and I'm resigning another 2 yr commitment?
Also, we went to the location inside best buy, they sell some kind of PSP insurance that is $6.99 a month and it covers water damage, but NOT water submersion. SO basically if you fall ...

That just sucks. You have to wait for god knows how long just to be able to get your new phone, then you have to pay extra for it as if it was wasting their time...when they're getting credit for it anyway I'm assuming?

hmm.

ummm, up until about 2 months ago, WE were charing a $15 equipment change fee for our upgrade customers (which was also ridiculous and unnecessary I'll admit)

Uhh - insurance sends you the new phone first. No loanger phone, you dont just send it back and get a new one after they decide. They ship you a new phone, along with a RMA label. Assuming you havnt lost the phone, or had it stolen.

Oh - that's covered too, by asurion. Lost/stolen equipment.

If you run over your phone? It's covered.

Please, if you dont know the real details about how something works, stop bashing AT&T. I'm a rep in business end user care for ATT... I might not like the company I work for - (I use verizon personally) BUT - please stop spreading misinformation about them, at least.

It sounds like they may have just gotten the wrong info from the AT&T rep. I know I have spoke to various companies for research purposes and I sometimes get incorrect or inconsistent information.

I never said she got the insurance thru AT&T, I said she got the insurance pkg thru Best Buy. Also, I was just repeating what had been told me me!
Anywho....I had AT&T for 3 years and every time something went wrong with my V3 razr they say oh make an insurance claim! I ended up making $150 in insurance claims. Talk about some warranty.
I'm just happy I work for a company that takes pride in their customers! 😁
