Thinking of switching to USC: Best simple phone

I currently have a family plan with 4 phones. Frankly I'm sick of ATT service, dropped calls, etc.

Unfortunately I've not found a phone that fills the bill for us. We do virtually no texting, a straight phone is all we need.

- not overly expensive
- need virtually no features though Speakerphone would be good
- tough
- thin
- exceptional sound quality

What should I be looking at? Also, are there any older phones that really shine but could be found used?

the moto w385 is a solid basic phone. it is the least expensive moto we sell right now. if thats too much scratch for your the samsung u340 is a good little phone too. i prefer to sell the moto around here it works better in rural areas. if you are a metro only person the samsung would be fine for you im sure. btw i would stay away from the kyoceras

I would agree that the Motorola w385 is one of the best "simple" phones for your dollar. Especially if you want something a little more rugged. And it gets good service!

Thanks everybody.

That's the phone I get recommended time and again. I may give it a try but I've never been a fan of the RAZR style buttons.

I'm also interested in at least one slider, any suggestions?

I'll need 4 phones on a FP.

for a slider the samsung 610 is a very good phone. we have not seen any issues with it like we have with the rokr and the lg260.

If you are looking for a basic no frill phone, USCC is the place to go, they have lots of them. 😁

Honestly, though, you'd be just as well off going to Cricket or using a Tracfone if all you want is a functional phone with no frills and no add-ons.

AT&T's network is a LOT bigger and marginally better than USCCs. If you're dropping calls with AT&T you'll drop calls period. USCC has only come in first place in Tulsa in the Neilson drives in regards to fewer dropped calls than the "Big Four" If you live in Tulsa, you may have a point. Or a pointed head. Just kidding.
