Do you like USCC?

I had USCC for 14 months, and I hated them, I hated them. All they do is ROAM, even if they have National Plans, they still roam so much, even in the "Wide Area" area they still roam like crazy. So, I paid the 150 ETF and went to AT&T and couldn't be happier.

On my last visit to the store to pay my last bill, the retailer mentioned that I won't get as good of service with my new carrier and she won't be surprised to see me back in there in 2 years.(She said it in a nice way, not in a rude way) Well I told her I'm happy with my AT&T service and that I seriously doubt she'll see me back in there EVER again). So obviously I don't like USCC, I think they're lack of good service, and lack of features that other companies have make them Lo...

USCC needs new phones

Jul 9, 2008, 10:55 PM
I like USCC because I like the free incoming EVERYTHING and my service is great, except in my basement. the only problems that I have with USCC is that the people that you talk to on the phone at customer relations or whatever don't know a lot about the phones except what they read on the computer infront of them, and that USCC doesn't pop out new phones like Verizon - but that is because they are a smaller company. So, I do like USCC except for lack of new phones frequently and sometimes unknowledgeable customer relations people. otherwise I couldn't be happier! Where were you living? in Northern Maine? because I NEVER get roaming when I am inside a Wide-Area zone. If you have national calling plan, you should never roam unless you are...

Overall, the voice coverage is probably the best I have ever had. That being said however, the 15+ minutes on hold for a tech support person and find out that all they can advise is for you to take your battery off, or there is nothing they can do for you is crazy. The SLOW data speeds are another reason I am starting to be totally disenchanted with them. The promises of EDVO have been coming for almost 2+ years and is getting really old...and so it the technology now (can anyone say LTE) The in store experience is totally inconsistent from store to store. I will be switching companies when my contract is up...they just don't offer enough to keep me as their customer anymore.

I used to work for US Cellular. I can understand this point. Especially the time frame its coming in.

US Cellular does have some of the best coverage in the places that they cover. Granted there are some problems in some areas, but every company will have that. The biggest problem we had was that we didn't have an extensive coverage area, which is true. US Cellular is a regional carrier, so you can't expect it to be all over.

The time waiting for customer service and tech support is entirely their faul, especially the tech support.

They launched "multi-site routing" which would allow customers to be routed to any call center, spreading out the calls rather than letting one call center be backed up in calls while another had no ho...

I LOVE USCC! I carried them long before I started working for them. It's the cheapest plan and no carrier can touch my plan and price. I have never had an issue that couldn't be fixed. The phones may not be the "coolest" but I love my Blackberry and wouldn't trade it for any touch screen phone (which we have one now). The phones do what they need to - make and receive calls. We have the best reception of any carrier in the midwest - no carrier comes close to our call quality. In big cities, no big deal; go rural, you'll notice a difference. USCC does have the highest rated customer service (hence our new branding) and I pride myself in doing all that I can to help a customer; as do many of my associates. I apologize your experience wasn't th...

I'm in the Eastern part of Tennessee(Knoxville/Sweetwater) area. I really did like their customer service, outstanding, but over all they still didn't do enough to make me happy.

I was paying more a month for USCC then I will be with AT&T. With AT&T I get unlimited messaging that means txts, pixs, vids, while with USCC all I got was Unlimited txt, At times I send alot of pix so I was paying out of the @$$ for pictures even after a pic msg'ing package.

The only time I have lost service with AT&T was this past weekend at a BBQ we were in the middle of nowhere, even USCC(which my brother still has) was roaming and couldn't use his phone cuz he only has a Wide Area plan. While my phone still got service if i went outside, so I coul...

I get pretty good coverage in Sweetwater, I'm not saying I get full service but I never completely lose service. I never got full service with USCC in Sweetwater either. With USCC Unlimited text is 15.00 while Unlimited Messaging period with 20.00 with AT&T, why not just pay the 5 dollars and get all messaging unlimited. That includes video something USCC DOESN'T have.

I travel to Atlanta quite a bit, so its nice to have a phone that doesn't roam there. I've not had any problems with AT&T and still like them better. I don't see myself going back to USCC, after the longest 14 months of my life.

Ok here is my opinion.

US Cellular is eactly what it is a the largest regional carrier (after altel leaves)

A good provider for services in the areas the operate and roaming agreements across the US.

With Roaming agreements the difference in carriers coverage come down to the specific areas you are in most of the time and who's towers are better covering the area.

JD Power and Associates has rated US Cellular to have the best coverage area in most of their markets at least once in the last few years. This is tested by an independent call test and surveys.

I personally have had the following carriers :
US Cell, Cingular, and Verizon
In my Area (TN) AT&T coverage is inferior to verizon and US Cell. US Cell wins the rural ...

Just for my own curiosity: When on a national plan, your phone will still say roaming when using another carrier's towers, however, that does not equal you being charged for the roaming. So, if you're not being charged for roaming, why is it a problem for you that your phone's roaming indicator is on? If this is the source of your frustration, I may advise my new customers who choose national plans how to turn the roaming indicator off on their phones. Just to make sure they don't become confused and think we're charging them.

Thanks for your reply.

I love USCC. I no longer live in a USCC area but still have their phones and their service has been great. The rural area I lived in before had very spotty service for Verizon and Cingular (ATT) but USCC hardly ever had a dead spot. Since I've moved I got a USCC nationwide family plan and it's very reasonable, especially compared to other plans I've priced in my new area. The unlimited texting plan for the family is especially sweet at just $19.99 compared to other plans.

Another reason I love USCC is a few years ago I had single lines, not a family plan. I only had the free nights & weekends on one phone. I called customer service to add this to another phone and they made the change, then called me back about 10 minutes later to t...
