Seriously, how long do you think it will take uscc to get LTE to the marketplace? I think they will "roll" it out around 2032, give or take a few months. 🤣

what EVDO are you talking about...I have yet to see it here. It is just going from CDMA 1X to LTE...whenever that happens... the year 2032 sounds about right

Currently EVDO is marketed in the Milwaukee, WI only. US Cellular stands behind their network. When Cingular rolled out "3G" their were so many complaints of dropped calls. Their was also issues of certain phones not being able to switch back to "2G" when they left the "3G" market. So I don't care when and if they get LTE.

I'm glad you don't care!! Jack Rooney and uscc do!!!!! I thought usc was walking away from EVDO. Rooney has the low down on LTE.lol I suppose USCC will be at 100% EVDO when EVERYONE else is "5G" or LTE. People, if you aren't on top of your game, DON'T REPLY TO MY POSTS!!!! 🤣

EVDO will be in 40-50% of the markets US Cellular runs by 2009 and the rest will follow by 2010. We have made public statements about LTE and will make that move along the lines of At&t and Verizon.

The two bigs are planing a 2010-2012 release of LTE in major cities. I would not be surprised to see US Cell follow later around 2013-2015

We will wait for the switching issues and drop calls issues to work out. This is more of an internal improvement and roaming improvement so it is not as important then getting 3g.

4g will provide faster data for consumers but devices/service will not be developed fully by the estimated LTE roll out by the big boys.

This new service speeds will not be realized by consumers and therefore no...

Good post! I agree. USCC provides solid service, just a tad behind the leaders.

I don't think the question here is whether uscc stands behind there product; we all know they do. For users of smart phones or data cards EvDO is very important to us, it can make a big difference for some apps.

The frustration I think with a lot of the users is that uscc hides behind the testing line. Yes on a new technology like LTE I want them to completely test it before releasing it for general public use.

But with EvDO it has been operated by other carriers for several years now, some have already started the migration to revA to give there customers better throughput and RevB was approved in 2006 and the software was available in 2007.

I think USCC has never recovered form the TDMA
fiasco. The management since then has bee...

I have EVDO 90% of the time. I no longer use uscc services.(moving,no service) EVDO is awesome, so fast usc customers would crap in their pants. 🤤 I see why it's taking them so long to get it to their customers. 🙄 LTE is something people should be looking into.

WOW, USCellGuy ! You do a hell of a job representing your company. If everyones associates bashed their employer like you do we'd all be is sad shape. From the looks of your posts it is pretty obvious that you know a few buzz words like EVDO and LTE but have no idea about what they are all about. Thanks for showing your stupidity. It makes the rest of us look good 🤣 🤣 🤣

Wow Sawdust, you're so smart!!! I had my first cell in 1992!!! I don't work for uscc!!! I used their service for several years and then switched carriers! Have you heard of Thuraya, Iridium or GlobalStar? What about 3? I'm so far out of your league, I'm in another universe!!! Tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. I'm 10 years ahead of ANY US Cell carrier. Call me a liar, I don't care. Tell me sat tech "won't" happen, I don't care. I know what I know. You may respond to my posts only after uscc has converted to at LEAST 50% EVDO!!!!!!🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤

that is great to hear that it will be rev A. Atleast we skiped rev0 and save that investment costs. I just wish we can get a threshold of over 40% by year end. Hopefully the areas covered will be all US Cellular metro areas first, I think that is all that is really important for this year. The rural customer, however the butter for us, is not as demanding for data, we might even be able to skip them till LTE can be proven nd released.

My customer's data cards are hungry for rev A hmmm... tasty data hmmm...

USCC should have rolled out EVDO to their metro markets a couple of years back. They are just now going to spend millions doing EVDO only to have to turn around and do it all over with LTE. Really, LTE will be the standard by the time USCC finishes turning on the switch of their last EVDO market. I think USCC should wait and just do LTE...they've waited this long already, what's another year?

Isn't that what everyone else is doing??? Spending millions on revA or HSDPA just to turn around and LTE!!!

We will have over 40% covered with revA by 2009 and the rest by end 2009. Verizon wireless will ST
