Anyone having issues with the ROKR?
I purchased my ROKR back in September '07 when they first came out and I am having several issues with it. The phone randomly shuts off by itself. It won't send text msgs until I shut it off and sometimes that won't work, I will have to do a *228 update to get the texts to send. Also it will say unable to charge while plugged in. Just wondered if anyone else had any issues or they were just me!

from what i understand your not the only one having these kinds of problems....does it randomly delete ur phone #s to?

i bought my wife one for Christmas. After 3 days it stopped powering on. We went back to the store and got another one. The second one has the texting issue, but does not randomly delete her numbers. According to USCC there are lots and lots of those phones having issues. Motorola released a fix, but it is not in the hands of the in store techs. The only way to get the fix is to send it in for repair...and get a loaner. When I dropped off the phone for repair, the tech made a comment about the repair center receiving about 50 of them a day for the fix!

This was not a problem with the phone itself (design-wise). The problem had to do with a specific batch of phones that were affected. It just so happened to be the largest batch that was sent out just before the holidays. Once the fix is applied, the phone should work great for you.

I sent my phone in for the patch, and now my phone is more jacked up than before I sent it out. Not only will it not send text messages, but it randomly deletes the speed dials, random contacts, and will not load pictures that are stored on the phone or memory card.

Just an update...I sent the phone to repair via a store with a tech per USCC customer service to get the text messaging software flash. Now instead of just having the text messaging issue since the flash did not fix the problem, I now have issues with the phone loading pictures in the gallery on top of the texting issue...
