USC employees

Every once in awhile I see someone post on here saying they work for USC and they are giving info on phones not currently in stock. You know this is wrong. We are never to give info on phones in testing or about to launch. Anything can happen that causes them to change their minds about launching a phone or changing something. When you give out info you risk being totally wrong. The thing is you know this. If you really are a USC employee remember our values and behaviors.

The anticipation on possible phones keeps people from leaving for other carriers. Now if we could just get some reliable EVDO information 🙄

Anyone else part of the agent channel? because we rock and make up of (last time i heard) 52% of the total sales for us cellular.

You say you are an agent. Ok tell my why the customers I have always come in pissed off after dealing with an agent. In the last month I've had 5 phones need to be exchanged because they do not work. The customer goes back to the agent just to be told "go to a corp. store it's not our problem". I have actually seen this written in memo's. All 5 phones were sold as new but inventory says they are actually used phones. I even called an agent to see why they would not help a customer. I was told "your a corp. store you deal with it.". Why do some agents not care?

I'm in the agent channel and we actually had our own technicians and we never refer customers to a corp. store. Pretty stupid of a store to refer there customers to another store that's money they're losing. Only complaint i've got with alot of retail stores are the people that work there think agents dont know sh*t

I can understand why you would get frustrated with a store thinking you don't know sh*t. I am glad to hear you aren't one of the type of stores to send people away. Wish more stores were like that.

I currently work for an agent but i use to work for a corp store as a sales manager. yes it is true that their are some agents that dont know how to properly take care of customer problems. this is also true in the corp store. the main difference that i see between the 2 are the training and the support...ie sales managers and store managers. in most agent locations there are not as many leaders that the associates can turn to.

I'm part of an agent location and we hear the exact opposite. People come in and complain that the corporate store didn't give them enough info and they continue to come back to us because we're "more helpful." It all depends on the store and it's employees. Same reason some people in life are awesome, and some people are dinks. It's luck of the draw.
Agent locations DO rock though 🙂

HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHHAHHAHHAAA! Gimmie a break. Are you that serious about phones? Sheesh. "Don't forget the USC way! Honor, Integrity, New Phones that are really phones that have been on other carriers that we might get, and Value. It's the US Cellular way!"

Get a life there, boyscout.

I am that serious about my job. Yes you are right Honor, integrity you should remember that too. Talking about a phone that isn't released does not fall into either of those. What do you do after you have told someone about a phone and then it gets knocked off the list? Now you look like the liar to the customer. Also you do know corp. has a team that actually watches these forums? Maybe you should reread our values and behaviors. I don't think it says anywhere to go against policy.

Well i wish corp would read this and start doing something about getting new phones!!! Our customers don't want the left overs we are getting after every other company picks what new hip phones they want... Come on its like sloppy 2nds i.e the "strobe" Its like ohh we got this new phone coming out bla bla bla does this and that and when we get it well yeah everyone else has already had it and moved on to bigger and better. Its like that saying if you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch.

well, if you are so worried about running with the big dogs go work for the big dogs. If you like us cellular than support them. Don't hide on a blog and bash their decisions.

Gee wiz! I heavily doubt someone "watches" these fourms looking to nab tattle tales. You're most likely wrong about that one.

If they did do that, how would they know it was you? Are the police in on it too? Look up your IP address? Suuuuuuuuuure.

And Kennedy was killed by a clown on a bus three miles away from the grassy knoll with a magic bullet.

US Cellular could care less if people break what new "great" phones you're getting.

I don't even work for them. Crazy guy.

You do not have to believe me. I do know however that these boards are watched. How I know does not matter.

hahahhahahaaa

So, if they're watched, how do they file prosecution? How do they know what employee posted it? Answer that.
...

Jan 31, 2008, 9:41 AM
Its not a matter of finding out who posted. If you work for the company you know the policies so why break them?

Jan 31, 2008, 12:50 PM
Well, why would they watch the posts if they had no way to prosecute? I don't work for your crappy company, but I find it amusing you're so die hard about a company that's so small and mostly insignificant in the wireless industry. And you proport to know they watch these posts. That's what I find amusing.

Maybe we are small by wireless standards but I love it here. This company takes care of its people and that is what matters to me. Not what someone who doesn't know how it is thinks.

They do watch these to make sure customer privacy info is not given out. Besides if someone is on here slamming the company they are probably doing the same at work. They all get caught eventually.

You're getting mad because you can't seem to give me a straight answer. Probably because your company is too important, and too "amazing", apparently.

Have fun switching over to Verizon/Alltel/Sprint in the next 5 years.

This kind of bashing back and forth doesn't get anyone anywhere. I do work for US Cellular, and phonescoop is the number one site that is monitored for giving out any private information or proprietary information, including new phones, including internal operations, including customer information, including projects not released to the general public, including divulging company information that is also covered under policy which will not be stated here. Grow up, shut up and do something better than spend your day trying to talk down to someone because they work for a company that offers superior service than VerSprATT-Mobile. We are the 6th largest carrier in the United States and consistently have offered service to our customers and h...

Hahhahahahahaa....

You're right. You're a great company. You're paid to watch the phonescoop.com fourms. Congradulations. What happens if someone does give away news on a new phone or something? How do you find them? That's what I wanna know.

If your company is so great, why are chunks of it broken off and taken over by other companies? Meh, just food for thought.

You're the one getting irrate. I just had a question. And my personal opinion is that US Cellular ain't that great. If you're saying "We don't test phones on our customers", that's a nice spin on why you don't get new models. Keep trying there sparky.

I'm grown up. I'm just giving you a reality check. Go drink more US Cellular Kool Aid pal, you're service is NOT super...

lol this was a fun conversation to read. However U.S. Cellular offically said to all employees not to post information on this website specifically.........However on the legal side of this giant box of crap talking, there isn't any possible way that U.S. Cellular can find out who is who on this website. first phonescoop would have to give them your IP Address and then the ISP you currently use would have to give them your locations or address or name blah blah blah. fact of the matter, THIS WON'T EVER HAPPEN. U.S. Cellular would need a criminal Supenoa and it isn't a crime to share information, but it could get you fired! Good Luck oh and Agents do blow a big one. there are 27 in our market and not a one of them know there head from a...

I wish I was a USC employee. I'd talk about new phones all the live long day. And wouldn't get caught. So, there.

USC was bought out by Alltel where I live. A superior take over.
