coverage in virginia?
i am a verizon cust. thinking about switching to us cellular but have heard mixed feelings/experiences about coverage in southwestern virginia. i live in roanoke and commute to blacksburg and christiansburg, and occasionally to the hampton roads area. anybody in this area know how good the coverage is? dropped calls/unable to make calls? roaming? if anyone has experience here i'd appreciate the input!

I live in Southside Virginia and it's great. I make the north south drive between Southside and Richmond/ Northern Va and the only two places I get calls dropped are in Prince Edward County and Caroline County. These are not on the USC network. Roaming in Richmond is no problem, and I used to drive to Hampton Roads a lot and got decent coverage there. In your area, Rocky Mount/ Roanoke/ Blacksburg, the coverage was good in my experience. By the way, hope things are good at ZB.

Believe it or not, I live in Roanoke, and commute to Christiansburg for work, and USCC works perfectly through my experiences with them. I think you would not have anything to worry about if you are considering switching

I know this is a bit late in coming but I live in Blacksburg and work for USCC. Coverage is perfect between Roanoke/Bburg/Cburg and actually really good all down I71 until you get between Rural Retreat and Marion and then you go into roam once you leave Smyth County. The only really spotty coverage I know of is parts of Giles County heading toward WVA and Rt 100 going from Giles towards Pulaski.

Pardon the typo...coverage is good all down I81, not 71...
