Secret Shops
Anyone think the secret shop system is a joke? WE DO! We had a USC Rep in from Chicago and we told him what we thought about the shop program and asked him to spend time on our sales floor and shop us according to the shop checklist, he did.
Thankfully a woman came in that was thinking of poting from Verizon, my associate did her thing, closed the sale, built a raport with the customer. I asked him what he thought of the interaction he said it was perfect. Then I gave him the shop check list and told him to fill it out like a secret shopper. She scored a 65%. Problem? I think so, and he agreed. I told him the we are not about robotic or cookie cutter sales.

I am not saying I think they are a bad idea, I think they are. But the way they are now the system is flawed.

Whats the big deal? Secret shoppers are not that hard to pick out, I dont go through all the hoops with everyone, but my last secret shop was a 96%.

our managers wont tell us about it until like a year later when they need someone or something to b*tch about, and then ask us why we haven't worked on what the shopper found wrong.

I know people who pick out secret shops the second they walk in. They make it way too easy.

i think they're lame... my co-worker keeps getting 100% and gets recognition for it, but i do 30 plus deals and dont get jack crap!! 👿 WTF!! i gotta get a corperate position, cuz im tired of UMG (urban media group) 😡

i got secret shopped and received a 65% because the company that owns our building threw like 400 lbs of salt in our parking lot and the outside of our store had salt stained up on the black framing around the glass....
only thing I actually missed as far as the secret shop was offering essentials, and that was more in the shopper by not moving from the front 5 feet of our store...
my 2 previous secret shops were both in the 90's, but this one just pissed me off....especially because you could tell the cust. was a shopper when they walked in and made it a point to stare right at my name tag for like 15 seconds

A friend just received a 96. She knew they were shoppers. She is so good, she would have scored that either way.
