Can anyone tell me about T2T and the 2 current phones?

My contract is up and I am thinking of getting T2T but there are currently only two phones, the LG AX4750 and the Kyocera KX440. Which one is better? I have always had flip phones so i am leaning that way but I have heard the T2T alert on the LG is extremely low. Which speaker-phone is better?

Also, does anyone know if you can T2T in private mode, i.e. through the normal ear piece not speaker like you can on Nextel. I like T2T but not to fond of everyone hearing my conversation all the time.

Thanks

Text Messaging Problem for Alltel

This problem started around after lunchtime. My brother and I both can no longer send text messages to email addresses. They are sent successfully but never received. However, we can send and receive to phones and can also receive from email addresses, but just can't get anybody to receive text to their email. Just this morning this was not a problem. I've called Alltel, and they can't figure it out because it's saying on their end in the mainframe system the messages are sent so they created a trouble ticket. Is this just my brother and I or all of Alltel right now?

New to Alltel - few questions

I'm new to Alltel, thanks to the changeover from ATTWS to Alltel in OKC. I've got a few questions I'd like to know before they start trying to get me to switch here real soon. I'm a former Verizon user before switching to ATTWS when moving to OKC and I prefer CDMA, except for when I travel internationally of course πŸ™‚.

1.) On Verizon, you could connect to the 1x data network with a laptop/data cable, and browse the net, and the only charge was the minutes you use.
How does Alltel handle this situation as far as billing and access?

2.) Due to my job, I get a corporate discount with ATTWS, and my account is tied to my employeer's foundation account.
How will Alltel handle the discount that is currently on my account as an ATTWS(now C...

Got a wierd one.

I haven't tested this myself yet, but I have been told that people calling me before 9:30 or 10am get a message saying that I am temporarily unavailable. I talked them this morning around 10 and they called right back and the call went through. I never have any problems any other time of the day. The rep I talked to seemed to think it is a problem with my phone, but it never happens any other time of the day and I would think that if it is a problem with the phone, calls would go straight to my voice mail. Any thoughts on this would help.

Thanks in advance.

maybe you guys will know

hey there in alltell, im a rep with former attwireless, now cingular. We have NEVER been told here that alltell has taken over some markets, just suncom. no info whatsoever in my system- here was the situation, any input would be great! πŸ™‚

I had a cust on the line from TULSA, OKLAHOMA

he is a former att wirelss customer and keeps getting letters from alltell saying that they will be taking over his acct within the next couple of months.

pulled his acct up and viewed poet(att/cingular program)- comes up as NON divested, and that he is able to migrate to cingular. But yet, when I use ESNET (equivalent to csp-another system) it shows that at one time this market was divested.

there is no info on ALLTELL anywhere in our systems-...

Alltel in OKC....I'm out!

😁
Well, after becoming furious with Alltel having hijacked my contract, I'm happy to report that I have been approved for waiver of the early termination fee!

It took 3 weeks, and 3 or 4 long phone calls, but I went through their "trouble ticket" process, and since they could not resolve the fact that I now have no coverage in areas that were covered before (including my office), I was eventually escalated high enough to get approval to be released from my contract. Interestingly, the rep who handled the final call is the one that called me back to let me know about the waiver, and she seemed to take some pleasure in the whole thing! Probably because she's a Cingular rep trapped in an Alltel mess for the time being.

At any rate, my ...

new contract

will i be required to sign a new contract with alltel in order to use their service? My contract w/att expires on 7/31/05. I don't usually do a contract past one year. Alltel does not offer a comparable plan for what I am currently paying. Less minutes for the same pay is not such a great deal in my book. will I be able to just purchase a phone out right and keep my plan as it was w/att?

Alltel AT&T Buyout questions

Hello everyone I got a letter sating my contract is being bought out ☹️ recently I have gotten dropped calls network busy so on and so forth ☹️ I am wondering if anyone knows if I will be able to continue to call AT&T wireless customers and not charge once Alltel finishes the buyout. If I can't I don’t want Alltel service. What is going to happen to my phone can I continue to use it or do I have to buy a new Alltel phone? I paid allot of money for my phone will Alltel give me a new top of the line phone for free? Wishful thinking "get a new bad @ss phone" but really last year I paid good money for a NEC camera phone with a 2 year contract will Alltel give me a comparable phone with the remaining 1 year on my contract? Any ideas of how all...

Upgrade Discounts

I am coming up on the end of my 2 years and will be looking for a new phone. I work for another wireless company that offers a $100 equipment discount. Does Alltel offer something similar? I won't be changing carriers either way, but anything would help. I want the Moto V710.

MMS Interoperability

Everybody can do it but Alltel, when will we jump on the bandwagon?

The list of operators with MMS interoperability is escalating. Besides Sprint, Verizon Wireless has MMS interoperability with Cingular Wireless, Leap Wireless, Alltel and U.S. Cellular. Sprint has MMS interoperability with Verizon and T-Mobile USA. T-Mobile is interoperable with Sprint and Cingular Wireless. And Cingular Wireless has interoperability with Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless, Leap Wireless and U.S. Cellular customers.

FCC approves merger with Western Wireless

By Jeremy Pelofsky

WASHINGTON, July 11 (Reuters) - Alltel Corp. (AT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) on Monday won approval from U.S. communications regulators to acquire rural wireless carrier Western Wireless Corp. (WWCA.O: Quote, Profile, Research) on the condition they divest certain assets in 16 markets.

The U.S. Federal Communications Commission said it unanimously agreed to permit the deal on the condition Alltel sell Western Wireless customers, infrastructure and wireless airwaves in markets in three states: Arkansas, Kansas and Nebraska.

In cases where Alltel does not have automatic roaming agreements, the company was barred from preventing its customers from choosing to roam on other available wireless networks unless a sub...
