Sprint Plan Problem

Hey guys,

Maybe someone can help me. I have a ten phone plan with Sprint. I have had it for several years, and the price is just too good to change it. I am interested in getting a new Hero, but I have been told that I have to add a new data plan to get not only the rebate on the phone, but also to merely activate it? Is this true?? If it is, Sprint is likely to lose my account and 10 phones. Help??

Sprint selling iDen network in iPCS territory - anyone heard anything?

I work in an iden only store for sprint in iPCS territory and they won't tell us anything. Just wondered if there's any news out there i'm missing. It's frustrating not knowing whats going on with my job! I'm 99 percent sure we are going to be sold or shut down - just don't know much. I do know that any people we have on our advantage club with lines in ipcs sprint network territory have to be moved to iden, cancelled or moved to a sprint consumer plan by sept. 15th 09.

Changing Phones

I currently have a Motorola i335 which is starting to act up. I would like to switch it out with another phone. I have an old Motorola i870 without a SIM card. When I install the SIM from the i335 into the i870, it does not work. I assume there is a incompatibility with the SIM card and the two different phones (however it seems that the research I've done contradicts that). The SIM card I currently have is the 128K (black) one.

So two questions:

- Is there a way to copy the i335 SIM card to a new SIM card compatible with the i870, and what parts would be required to do so? In other words, how do I "make" my current SIM card (or another) compatible?

- If the first option is impossible / impracticable, which phones are compati...

ESN checks accurate?

The last time I checked an ESN, they told me that the ESN was clear. However, when I tried to activate it, they told me that the ESN was bad. Why is that? I asked a friend and they told me that when Sprint customer service and reps do an ESN check, they don't really go through with a "trial activation" where they try to activate it to see if it's clear, instead they act on a list that isn't as up to date.

Mogul - upgrade or wait?

I have had a Mogul since they were first released and have been fairly happy with it. However, it's starting to get a bit sluggish just from normal wear and tear. I keep checking the Sprint site and forums for new PDAs worth upgrading to but haven't been overly impressed. The HTC Touch Pro doesn't really have any new features and hasn't gotten the best reviews, and I'm not particularly excited about Sprint's BB options. What new releases are in the works for the next year or so that I should have my eye on?

LG Lotus Downloads?

I recently got an LG lotus as a gift. I don't have any kind of internet plan on it, so I was wondering if there is a way for me to download and install Java based games onto it?

I've tried downloading .jar and .jad files, but the phone always recognizes them as an "invalid fil", so I have no idea what to do with them..

I really just would like to be able to install some simple programs or simple games.

Help would be greatly appreciated!

So What's next for Nextel?

I had Nextel for a couple of years back in 2002-2004. Back then, it was at the top of it's game, before Sprint bought them. I recently converted my Sprint Account to a Nextel account and bought the i580. Yeah, that phone is way behind compared to my Sprint Curve, but I got tired of all the bells and whistles anyway. I don't know one single person with Nextel anymore, so I can't even use the direct connect. I just like the phone and believe it or not, the reception/service is great in my areas compared to Sprints reception. I've noticed that Sprint is keeping the Nextel brand seperate instead of merging like originally planned. So what's next for the brand? Are they ever going to make nicer phones like the i9? Are they going to conti...

boost vs sprint

I am so disgusted with boost at this point it is not even funny, they are cutting sprint off at the knees with a 50.00 unl plan when sprints is 99.99, keep in mind that sprints has more to offer, especially when it comes to the cdma network but it still sucks. what really bothers me as a sprint employee is that boost is telling customers to call sprint cust care and ask to be switched to the iden network so they can keep their number, this is not possible without iden(nextel) equipment and we cannot dummy that out. and to all you consumers, please read the fine print at boostmobile.com that says "In addition, Boost Mobile services may not be used to send or receive unusually high numbers of messages or engage in atypical web usage behaviors....

SIM card?

Can you store contacts on a Powersource SIM card like GSM SIM cards?
Transfer them from one Powersource phone to another?
Do strictly Nextel phones use these SIM cards as well?
