cell phone newbie

I've just gotten an Alcatel Fierce and need to know where to go to learn how to use it! My learning style requires hands on instruction vs reading a manual and being able to do it.
Ideas??

Q3 1 Million Adds!

This is awesome. If they can keep the momentum into the typically good 4th quarter T-Mobile becomes a real contender in wireless.

Give the people what they want and apparently they will come to you.

T-Mobile Coverage in Charlotte, NC - 28277

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to find out how many of you guys use T-Mobile in Charlotte North Carolina (South Charlotte, Piper Glen area), near the Stone Crest shopping center?

I wanted to gauge your network speeds on 4G LTE using the SpeedTest.net app or something similar. I want to get an idea, if this carrier serves me at my apartment complex (Piper Station), whereas Sprint's 4G only delivers 0.5-1Mbps in my apartment, on my GN2. I am constantly having to rely on TWC's in home WiFi for a decent connection.

I am itching to pull the trigger, and get the new GN3. Please post your screenshots, as I would love to hear from you, and any experiences you have had with the carrier.

Thanks a million,
”‹JE 😁

Thinking of switching

I am currently with Sprint. But I am getting tired of their slow 3G network and the lack of 4G. Half the time I can't even use my iphone, because the internet doesn't work. I wanted to know anyone that has T-mobile in New York what the service is like, and what average internet speeds you are getting. Also do you think it is worth to switch from Sprint to T-mo ? I would go with Verizon, but I need the unlimited data and don't wanna pay that much.

Thanks for the help 🙂

Anyone Else Noticed Tmobile Censors Picture Messaging, and Emails

Anyone Else Noticed T-mobile Censors Picture Messaging, and Emails

My wife was shopping and sent me a private pic as she was trying on clothes. The Picture never came through on my phone even though it said sent on hers. Then she sent one fully clothed and that came through no issues.

Fast forward to another incident same thing the Private pic did not come through, even after trying to send it via email...

I also noticed it happen when I tried to send a pic to dropbox.

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the same thing.

t-mobile refill cards

i bought a t-mo no-contract phone a while back and it came with a refill card and i have a few questions about the cards.

1) i am a contract customer and have no use for the refill card, is there any way to use this towards my contract account?

2) can i use it for anything else (i.e. like a pay per use data plan if such a thing exists)?

3) are there any other companies that will honor t-mobile refill card cash?

4) is there some place where one can check the balance of the card (i haven't used it but it is about a year old, should still be good right?)?

thanks!

Roaming question ?

On the phone you can search for networks and usally T-mobile and at&t come up. When you click on at&t it says your sim card will not allow you to connect. Is there anyway to connect to at&t network ? do you need to unlock sim card or phone ? was just wondering if you would be able to use at&t in areas where there is no T-mobile.

Adding Employer Discount Extends Contract?

Hi, I work for Verizon Wireless, adding an ECPD (employer discount) with us does not extend your contract by any means. However, someone I know who was about to switch from T-Mobile to Verizon just recently added their employer profile to get a monthly discount on their bill, but nothng was explained and we found out just recently. Best Buy added the employee profile. I just want to check if this is correct practice for any that might know.

Thanks!

Hopefully the End ALL Be ALL to this pricing argument

I have been tired of hearing how the phone installments make T-Mobile more expensive than the other postpaid carriers, because people are hung up on the 20.00/mo phone installment. So below is a price comparison of somewhat comparable plans, even though in the case of VZ and ATT, the data is only 1GB, compared to unlimited with T-Mo, Sprint and US Cellular. For me, 1 GB would simply not be enough.

Verizon Wireless:

1 line- Unlimited talk/text/ 1 GB data= 40 line access+50 data= 90.00

2 lines-Unlimited talk/text/1 GB of shared data= 40 line access x 2 lines + 50 data= 130.00

ATT w/ Mobile Share:

1 line- Unlimited talk/text/ 1 GB data= 45 line access + 40 data = 85.00

2 lines- Unlimited talk/text/ 1 GB shared data= 45 l...

So.....

I am a little confused....What else is new...Right?

I am going this week to sign up with T-Mobile....Finally gonna get the HTC One, If I put down the $20 and pay the monthly fees with the newer system, If I decided to upgrade to something else? I mean does the cost of the phone just get added to the oerall payment until thats paid off? For instance I sign up and am paying whatever it is a month for a phone, then decide 6 months from now to get something else that's $500, do I add the phone to my account and start paying the difference to the one I was paying on?

Thanks

T-Mobile Phones (New Rate Plans)

OK, so there are no more contracts, however, if you want a new phone, ie: you have to put down a deposit of $20 then pay installments for 24 months. It's gona cost a total of like $500+ for a new phone.

In the long run, its not cheaper. I would rather sign a new contract with another company, and only pay $199.99 for a phone.

Does anyone know if this applies to loyalty customers as well?

TMOBILE NEW PLAN

Tmobile sucks! I was planning to switch from Verizon.. but when I found out the new plan of Tmobile, it costs me more than on what I am paying now. Sprint doesnt have a good reception in my area. I have 4 phones and I want to lower my monthly rate and at the same time Im enjoying the data service for unlimited. Is there a way that I can lower my monthly bill?

Signal Strength

Hey all

I just wanted to chime in and ask if there was anyone else in the Boston area with T-Mobile? I wanted to check before I leave Verizon. I did check the map on the website and it lists my location as having dark green which is good I know but I wanted to hear from people that actually have it.

Thanks
