My friend got the Samsung D900 unlocked GSM phone but can't send or receive picture/multimedia messages. It keeps saying subscriber not registered? I send from my sprint phone and she receives the photo but when trys to download it subscriber not registered? She used to get them and send them from her crappy suncom phone. WHy can't she just pop her sim card in and good to go?
i have a quick question, i ordered a cingular phone from ebay for my girlfriend. the problem is she is on suncom service. im with cingular and i have some connections, so im sure i can get it unlocked. it should work with suncom right? if i get the settings from the internet will the multimedia messages work and internet work? i dont think thats a big deal for her, because they dont work on her current phone....but there are certain perks to your beautiful girlfriend having a really good camera phone with the ability to send you pictures and videos..... 🤤
I got SunCom over here in Puerto Rico and I've been trying to configure MMS on my unlocked RIZR Z3. Through customer service they sent me a text that said "browser update" and when I accepted it and typed in the 4-digit code they gave me my RIZR said to me "Cannot add MMS server" something about I had too many. So I searched ModMyMoto and eventually learned how to erase the Web Sessions. After I erased the Web Sessions I tried re-downloading the software from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and the phone said the same thing to me. I wanted to know if someone could help me configuring the Web Session for SunCom MMS manually?
The customer service lady told that the service type is HTTP not WAP or anything else, that's ... (continues)
Should my brother and I join Suncom? But we worry about the roaming off the towers and paying a fortune. We're in SC. We need unlimited text/picture messaging. Early night and weekends. And don't want to be roaming in our own city on somebody's towers, lol
i orginally have the hiptop 2 and since i found out suncom was discontinuing it i decided to upgrade to the 3 so i called customer service they tell they are out of it to go online and order so i do so and 2 days later recieve it in the mail and soon as i put the battery in it starts vibrating non stop i take it by a store they just tell me to send it back cuz they dont handle orders placed online so after dozens of phone calls and attempts they finally tell me i have to email online support to get a replacement for the defective 3 that was sent out so the same day the lady send out the replacement i get it ups and it has the same problem (hmmmmmm) so i email them and tell them since they having such issues wit thge 3 i wanna switch complet... SBA picks up 69 towers from SunCom By Joni Morse Nov 14, 2006 BOCA RATON, Fla.—SBA Communications Corp. struck an agreement with regional wireless carrier SunCom Holdings Inc. to buy 69 towers located throughout North Carolina, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee. The deal is worth $18 million. SBA’s deal with SunCom spells the end of the operator’s U.S. presence in the tower industry. SunCom still owns sites in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Raymond James & Associates analyst Ric Prentiss commented that the SunCom towers “are typical of what SBAC is looking for in towers, young towers with growth potential.”
SBA’s stock was up 16 cents to $27.76 per share following the news.
I've been having "problems" with my hiptop. I did buy it second hand (so no warrenty, no insurance) but nothing seems visably wrong with it. The applications work fine. Everything works the way it's supposed to.
It worked beautifully the first month. Then it started to get ugly. I dealt with it losing reception occasionally, then it started to do it often. I called Suncom and they did some "over the air" message and asked me to restart my phone. They told me it was a temporary fix and to call tech support to get a better fix. So I called and get no help from tech support and they wrote on my account to go to a store. I don't want to go to the store because I work screwy hours so I ignore this.
So it works wonderfully, then after a co... (continues)
From what I hear SunCom isn't doing that great. People swear the company is wonderful and such a trend setter but I don't think so. If you get SunCom don't plan to travel or even step outside of a 2 foot circle of coverage because the phone will not work.
And where is all the management going? I heard that several VIPs have jumped ship! Not a good sign. Same thing happened with AT&T i hear when Cingular was putting the moves on them. 🤣
Does anyone know if suncom supports AOL instant messaging on phones other than hiptop. My son is def and can use instant messaging to tty other phones. If they do support is it internet or text messaging and what is the cost
Hi... I've been hanging around these forums for quite some time now, but havent been posting because there wasnt a link for Suncom.....I guess I have an accuse to post now. Anyway, I bought the Hiptop 2 from Suncom on June 10, 2006 (recently). I was just wondering when the Hiptop 3 will be release. Will Suncom offer an upgrade program?....
P.S.-- For all of you that dont know what suncom is all about, visit www.suncom.com and you can type in my zip code (29681) to view the phones.
