New blackberry phones, etc...
Hi everyone....I just purchased the VZW Curve(upgradingfrom 8830, or should I say downgrade), what a mistake! After one day, I am returning the curve. I mean they took a step forward by adding the camera but then they took 3 steps back with everything else.
The LCD screen did not look crisp like the 8830. I put the phones side by side and there is a difference.
Also, the phone has "ZERO" style points and sleekness. Basically the only thing I noticed is it has camera on a very 1997 looking cell phone. So needless to say I am returning the Curve and will await til the next blackberry comes out.
Can someone please tell me when and what new blackberry releases I can look forward to in the near future on VZW network please?(I am l...

dc1225 you hit in right on the noise. The curve is junk. I had it a few days and the batterie was awful. The phone is defiantly a downgrade from the 8830

Why the heck did you get the phone then? All of your complaints are based on looks. Looks is something you could have clearly seen at the store and noticed that there was a difference.
I came from an 8830 as well, and while the curve isn't a huge upgrade over the 8830, there are some nice features and the phone has functioned great for me so far.
Maybe you just should have never gotten the phone, don't blame BB or verizon. Blame yourself for making a rash decision.

Not to mention, the Curve is NOT...repeat NOT...an upgrade to the 8830. There is a reason for model numbers/series numbers. The Curve was never meant to be an upgrade to the 8830. The 8830 is marketed as a Global Blackberry Business phone...it's designed to appeal to business travelers, both male and female. The Pearl was designed to appeal to female entrepreneurs and included a camera. The Curve was to appeal to the male side WHILE still appealing to females. It is also to have a Blackberry with a full QWERTY and camera. NO ONE has ever marketed this phone as an upgrade to the 8830. So OP...that's your fault for thinking a lower model number is an upgrade.

I understand your views, but you started an entire thread about the curve wasn't that great and you pretty much gave a couple of ridiculous reasons why. Reasons that could have easy been found out from simply walking into a verizon store and looking at the phone.
I just think it's comical when people come on here and talk smack about phone when all of their negatives points are things that could have been avoided by NOT getting the phone.

playa, thats just the way I play playa...i buy what i want to buy when i want to buy. it is my prerogative to buy after 1 minute if i feel like it. I will admit that I got caught up in the moment of "hey, new bb, gotta have it" but sad as it is to say the 8330 made me limp. It was as ugly as your mug what can i say? 🤣

The Curve is getting 10 out of 10 reviews all over the internet. Stop acting like a troll.
It's not a matter of "verizon just releasing it." It's more of a matter of RIM making a CDMA version. RIM designs for GSM first, THEN CDMA. Get over yourself.

The phones are not entirely the same. The VZW curve is the first and only Blackberry with 96mb of memory, all others have just 64mb. And the new curve has a high speed USB port. I understand that it is not 2.0, but RIM claims it is 10x faster than the original.
