Funny... When I was gonna port to ATT, they wanted $700!!! I have my dish, home phone, and DSL through them too. ๐Ÿ˜ณ I didn't even have to put a deposit for VZW. I heard that VZW has the lowest deposit demands. They won't charge over $400.

verizon recently made the new policy for the limit of 400 for security deposit. and verizon land line and verizon wireless are two SEPERATE companies. they have nothing to do with eachother. and landline services never have a deposit....

I said nothing about landline service. ATT advertises the bundles and stuff. I'm an existing customer with 3 of their services, and they still wanted a deposit for cell service?

actually, verizon communications (landline) owns roughly 55% of verizon wireless (cellco partnership) while vodafone group owns around 45%...so essentially they are the same company, hence why they offer bundled services just like at&t does. but as you have made abundantly clear in all your posts (and that you became a member feb 5, 0๐Ÿ˜Ž i can safely say your are in this forum trolling just to piss off actual verizon wireless employees as well as verizon wireless agents. you are of course getting exactly what you want so i can't argue with your methods, only point out that your posts are without merit and reference. you can check my information at vzw.com or verizon.com.

This is not a new policy. It has always had a max of $400 (at least for the last 3 years I have been selling Verizon). Also Verizon has some of the lower deposit tiers. I have heard of AT&T being up to $1000.

no, that is incorrect, AT&T's highest is $750. VZW use to pull $1000 deposits.

Verizon actually has really good prepay now. its very inexpensive. and you only pay for WHAT YOU USE. if you dont use it at all for a week.. you dont pay for it. i would def ask a rep in your area.

VZW prepaid is and always has been a joke. You are right its not bad if you don't use it. Maybe it will change to something decent. Bring back the old pay as you go and ezpay.

yeah agreed... I miss ezpay, the only reason it never took off is because the big box retilers where not whoring it out. On the new plans if you use it almost everyday you will pay atleaste 60 for 300 minutes. Yeah you get in calling, but you have to go to a 1.99 a day to get you night and weekends. So you are 60 fo in calling and nights and weekends before you even make a call. Now if you don't use it you will not get that daily access, but ezpay was a great flip for someone with a huge deposit, this new prepaid is for minimal use.

I still liked pay as you go for old people. NOthing to it 30cents during the day 15 cents night and weekend and IN. Drop that to 20 and 10 and bring it back..

No Weekends, just unlimited IN and unlimited nights. Not weekends....

I agree, it sucks. I'm telling my ezpay customers almost daily here at my location to be sure they don't let their EZPay lapse. 'Cuz if they do, they're up creek without a decent prepay plan.

Verizon's prepay is not there yet. And it is not entirely correct to say that it does not cost you if you dont use it for a week. When you put airtime on the phone, the cheapest card they have is $15, which is only good for 30 days. Then you have to add more time. So figure it is costing you $.50/day, which is $3.50/week to have that phone. That is not free. You might as well use your phone 3 times that week as you are paying for it anyway. If you dont add more time by the end of 30 days, you lose your balance. So in reality the phone is costing you $.50/day to have. It does get cheaper if you add larger amounts at one time, but everyone knows you dont want to load to much time on a prepaid phone.

If you are a light user, you are...

That says it all.......Why should a company even offer POST paid service of any kind if you have proven you cannot pay your debts as agreed to?

I agree with you, till it comes to wireless phones.

All carriers have proven thru their prepaid service that they can control how you use your phone. Another words, good credit or bad credit, whats the difference. We are all prepaying our bill anyway, postpaid, we are paying a month in advance. The only difference is we get billed for any overage a month later. Carriers have proven that they can shut your phone off when you reach your minutes thru prepay, they have proven that they can track your minutes instantly. So with that said, we all pay a month in advance for so many minutes on the plan. Lets use the $39.99/month plan, that gives you 450 minutes. Once you reach the 450 minutes, then you have to add more minutes to the accou...

There is a step-down program. If a line is active under someone else's name you can transfer the service after 6 months and your credit check will get step-downed ($0 if it would've been $125, $125 if it would've been $400). That is... if you can manage to keep it without service interruption 6 months straight...

IM SORRY... BUT THIS IS NOT TOTALLY ACCURATE!!

The step down program: you also cannot be past due for 6 mnths, have no insuffiecent funds payments for 6 mnths, AND have no suspnds, or hotlines for 6 months... AND the original account cannot have begun with a deposit!

yes, but the step down program is only offered to young adults that are branching off from their parents plan. not to just anyone. we still check credit as if you were a new customer unless you are a student

The program was set up to assist young adults/students but in no was is it exclusive to them and they still have to have a credit check. If we don't know what the deposit amount is how can we step it down one tier. I have done this for middle aged and older people in the past so it is not just for young adults.
