I would have to somewhat disagree. My Wife has had 2 touch based devices and she hated them. Too fickle for her. One was resistive. I told her to try capacitive. Not only does she hate them, but because of my suggestion, she now hates me too. 🙂 She loves her Tour! Full touch is not for everyone.

Agreed.

Although I use an Iphone now, and had a touch screen before that and returned it....I always went back to my Curve when I was in between phones.

It's about 4 years old and works perfect.
RIM makes pretty reliable devices.

amen to that...im currently using an Android device and I've played around with an iPhone for a while, but my Blackberry is still the best. Most reliable, best battery, best keyboard, an all around solid device.

Blackberry is OK but for me it's nothing more than a glorified messaging phone. BORING!

Blackberry is still the "ish" as you call it. Smartphones in general were not even around 10 years ago....even 5 years ago, most of us were happy to have a Razr. Smartphones are still infants. RIM isnt going anywhere, neither is Apple and if Android plays it smart, they'll stick around as well.

And what proof of this do you have? Just because you were getting the free razrs back then doesnt mean blackberries werent around. You should seriously get your facts right before making stupid posts that arent true. Just take 2 secs to google it next time. The first blackberry's came out in 1999 of course you didnt know that though. Didn't you ever hear the news story during 9/11 that blackberries where the only phones working after all comms were knocked out?? Oh but wait you didnt know that either...learn your facts dude

I made no reference to the first Blackberry, you said it's been 10yrs since a good Blackberry came out, isn't that what we're talking about? The last time a good one came out?

True. A couple weeks ago I read an article on Yahoo about how willing BB users are to go to Android or Iphone.
We'll see as contracts expire, and people upgrade.

I can't wait to see how much of a hit the Evo will be. The Iphone needs *more* competition! I hope Sprint markets the heck out of the Evo, if their smart they'll announce a couple more wimax cities in time for the Evo's launch.

Ya i can believe that. When i was in sales i was seeing more bizzes doing the same thing cuz not only were the other devices cheaper but they can now pretty much match the bb email capability. But i agree and am actually proud that sprint got the phone pushed out so early...i honestly wasnt expecting any 4th gen phone out til next yr....so it'll be interesting to see how it does. Now if they really wanted to be iphone killers or just compete with it they'd figure out this problem theyve been having to match att's data and voice simultaneously...

Well don't you think a wimax smartphone will be able to do voice & data simultaneously? Wimax for data, and CDMA 1x for voice.

Well see thats what they do already but ive been reading that for some reason they havent been able to get the phone to do them simultaneously...who knows maybe its just a software bug and itll be fixed soon...i'd say give it some time and they'll figure out a way to do both on just wimaxx...the tech itself is still very young

RIM now = Palm 5 years ago.

On a side note, I wish somebody would come in and put Palm out of it's misery already. Just kill the dang thing.
