RIM Believes the Web is the Future

Today Research In Motion indicated that its new, WebKit-based browser will become an integral part of its platform moving forward. RIM believes that WebKit with HTML5, CSS and other standard web technologies are what developers will use to create applications and widgets for BlackBerries. RIM also indicated that it is working to bring Flash Player 10 to the BlackBerry platform. RIM is prepared to debut the next version of its operating system and WebKit will play a bit role in that OS.

Loyal Blackberry users.
I think there is a large market of people who love their blackberry. They just wish the web browsing was up to par, especially if they bring flash 10 to the table. I think this will save RIM from extinction. I hope it works out well.
I dunno many BB loyalist are flocking away to Android and Apple around my area. At the board room table BB users use to dominate, now I see Apple and the Droid.

Give me an accurate and hopefully technical definition of what exactly HTML5 is? I am not sure what it means in terms of technical specs and capabilities it has over competing browser formats. Thank ya Thank ya! 🙂

BB is just now having this revelation? Aren't we like 10 to 15 years into this? This kind of takes me back to high school, information super highway.
