Verizon to Open GPS on Samsung Omnia

Don't count on it. Both are older phones that if they are not officially discontinued yet, more than likely will be shortly.

They'll update all the newer phones, but I highly doubt they'll update legacy devices.

I feel your pain, I'm waiting for the 6800's to be unlocked. I e-mailed them a long time ago, got a call yesterday (went to voicemail), called back and wasn't able to find out anything.

I'm guessing that older phones won't be supported. The reasoning is that instead of consumers keeping their older phones with "non-supported gps capabilities" they would have to buy newer equipment thus extending their contracts.
