Probably from the sheer amount of exchanges due to defective equipment and freezing crap palm OS.

Palms software never had a freezing issue. it was windows Mobile on the palm devices. I have a palm centro and the palm OS and it freezes like once or twice a month thats it.

you make it sound like that's acceptable. i have a Blackberry Bold and it never freezes. the only time i reboot it is when i install an app it says i need to.

Only time I have issues with the Bold, is when I'm at work, its like being in a dungeon no signals, from any carriers, so when I leave, I just use that re-boot app which acts like a battery pull and all is well. If I don't, it will connect for voice in a few minutes and then sometime later it will reconnect with the blackberry server. Faster and easier to do what I do. BTW the same thing happens with a co-workers Storm.

So which is it? It never had a freezing issue or it freezes like once or twice a month? What about all the perma-reboot problems I always see with the centro where it won't stop rebooting itself. Or all the instability issues with the 650 and 680? Seriously. I can't believe there is hype over this phone at all.

What defective equipment? For the record, it is Winmo that freezes not PalmOS. OH 😲 guess what??... The Pre is not running PalmOS, it is running webOS, Palms new operating system which replaces PalmOS. Get your head out of the sand. 😉

First off, as other have said, the majority of Palm phones with software problems are the Windows Mobile phones. Second, it is completely unrealistic to expect a smartphone to never freeze. Granted it should not be excessive, but once or twice a month it is pretty normal for a smartphone to need the battery pulled, and I've worked with them from every carrier. That is like expecting a computer to never freeze, even my fiance's "perfect" macbook gets the rainbow wheel from hell more often then it should (not trying to start a windows vs mac flame war).

Back to the Pre, it will have the occasional bug but mark my words it will put the Blackberry Storm launch to shame (which isnt hard to do no matter what you Verizon fanboys wanna say).

Excellent point, nothing is perfect, nothing. The Pre and WebOS will be a viable platform if it is on more carriers. AT&T is getting a Lite version of a WebOS phone in the fall, this is not bad for Sprint, but actually good. More users, more developers, more programs, more buyers, not matter the carrier.
