Your statement of "superior signal evdo phones have" is without basis unless a lot of factors taken into account.
Indeed, there are reasons that you may infact get a better signal with Sprint's network rather than Cingular's. For one, your area (such as Denver, where I live) may proportionally have more sprint towers closer together which makes for a better data experience, and fewer signal issues. Another factor may be the general newness of UMTS on Cingular; theres only 3 handsets i can think of, whereas sprint has had CDMA handsets since the beginning and has tuned the network for CDMA performance. However, I fear you may be confusing the RF performance of their GSM/GPRS/EDGE signal with their wideband-CDMA based UMTS/HSDPA signal. I...

Buddy, for your own good, put a sock in it. Cingular is MORE THAN 100 markets behind VZW and Sprint. Cingular will NOT be launching "Nationwide" UMTS or HSDPA by the end of the year. Did you just make that up, seriously? I am a Verizon user and know that Sprint is data-king.
