No New NGage Device Coming
Don't think it'll be missed..
I'm a gamer, but even I never saw no real need fo' the NGage unless it could game in the same league as the Gameboy Advance or the PSP or the DS. It didn't.
Still I wish Nokia luck when they try again in 2007. Maybe they'll get it right next time.
Nokia's marketing of it, not as a phone, but as a game platform failed miserably while the launch games sucked. The first version didn't look or act like a normal phone either, and we all laughed.
The new games are quite good, but everyone who's read the press knows that anything "N-Gage" must be tainted.
Naturally Nokia is dumping the name.

That's the American public for you. I had a chance to mess around with both N-Gages, and both were pretty nifty.

I own an' love a Nokia phone (the 6256i), but the N-Gage never really caught on, no matter how Nokia tried ta spin it. Jus' did not have the goods. ☹️

What I don't get is Nokia's comment about screen technology. Anybody seen the screen on the Sony-Ericsson s710? Don't tell me the tech's not there yet.

good point, muchdrama. with all of the qvga screens we're seeing (and Nokia seems to be the only ones pushing that envelop with the whole N and E series that have better than QVGA res.) we can't be very far away from higher res. cell phone gaming.
They might be referring to the refresh rate or something. I recently played a tennis game on the s710 and was amazed by the clarity, color, and brightness. Good stuff.
