not sensitive to our progressive society

HelloEveryone

Feb 11, 2005, 4:46 PM
I find the key pad on this phone intollerant to the needs of our society. These gender specific icons discriminate against children with two mommies or two daddies. In our ever changing society I think it is important that we cater strictly to minorities.

I hope this is a sarcastic post. But in reality you know someone out there will sue because of the same idea you present in the post. ๐Ÿ˜ณ If this IS a real post and not a good bout of sarcasm...then you need a reality check. ๐Ÿ™„

No, no one brought up sexual preference but you, in my personal opinion (yes, strictly opinion) that would not be an attractive color, would probably hurt my eyes, and wouldn't draw the kind of attention I would want. But hey, others might say that color is their favorite ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Perhaps you're just being stereotypical - who says it really is for mom and dad? The male and female buttons could be programmed to dial the persons girlfriend *and* boyfriend, if they are so inclined!

I cannot believe the audicity of your comment. In your cause for equality, you left out many other minority parental situations. There was no mention to children born to unicorn parents? There was no mention of a Clown - Elephant relationship? Where are those pictures?

I, for one, was raised by wolves. I want a picture of my mom, Arroooo, and my dad, Sparky, on my emergency phone. What if my mom wore the pants in our family, and my dad was a cross-dressing leprechaun? Why are they not mentioned in your "ever changing society?"

For someone who preaches about intollerance and discrimination, you should be more considerate of other minorites.

Boycott everything. Buy nothing. Be an idiot.

With complete sincerity,
Matt Foley

What a load of CRAP. In this country the MAJORITY rules. We don't cater strictly to minorities. That would mean they make the rules but not enough people agree with thier point of view. Look, if you want to ban smoking inside a restaurant, and enough people agree with it, do the smokers get to smoke inside? NO! They are the minority ... they LOST. geeeeez

To me this is more a comedic look at what we as americans do, not really about a phone marketed to children.

Personally I have not stopped laughing since I opened the first post.

The reality is you cannot cater to everyone all the time. So, is this phone exclisive? Yes to some extent, but then arent they all? Like arent smart phones exclusive to low income families simply because they cannot afford one? And camera phones discriminatory to ugly people? This is the free market, if it doesn't fit you needs, don't buy it, if there are enough people like you the products you need will be made.

I know this is off topic but isn't America the place that is making people say season's greeting or Happy Hollidays instead of Merry Christmas. I don't even think we can use Halloween any more. Now I believe it is called Fall Festival or some crazy word. Minorities seem to be winning here.

All I have to say is some people are WAY too sensitive and I hope the post was intended as a joke. I myself am a lesbian and I do not take the mommy and daddy buttons as an insult or insensitive. It could just be that I donโ€™t understand. I donโ€™t ever plan to nor do I want to have kids. If my girlfriend ever whines up getting me accidentally knocked up (and if she does then there is a much bigger problem at hand than the fact that my kidโ€™s cell phone has mommy and daddy buttons on it) but if it ever does happen and I have a kid in school then my point of view may change. I would hate for my 9 year old to be at school and crying while trying to figure out why there are not two mommy buttons on the phone. But then again I donโ€™t think elem...
