Verizon Wireless Pushing Gingerbread to HTC Thunderbolt

Verizon Wireless today indicated that it is updating the HTC Thunderbolt to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The update can be retrieved from the Thunderbolt's system menus and downloaded over the air.

off topic

need to know, so I commented on the first post I saw. Would you go with the Amaze 4G or the Sensation 4G? Why?
And not just because it is newer, but it has the better camera sensor and it is very very fast.

I dont think this phone will get ICS.

From Verizon, im sure you will be able to root it onto it.
i thought we didnt have to worry about android fragmentation anymore?

At least they gave some extra on the update. Ice Cream will come soon. But we got a feat that only HTC Sense 3.0 has which is the weather sound effects. I'm not complaining bout anything. I'm just happy the rebooting stopped. Technology fries too fast...

I agree with ya, ICS will most likely be a no show.

Unofficially though, there will be plenty of options. I wish carriers would agree for swift updates for atleast 2 years on their phones (to reflect contract length).
