Rdio Will Shutdown December 22

Rdio, which is in the process of being acquired by Pandora, will go offline worldwide on December 22. The company said it looks forward to adding its unique features to Pandora down the road. Paying customers will be able to listen through the end of their current billing period up to Dec. 22, after which their account will be closed. Rdio said customers can still listen to ad-supported stations on their mobile phone until the service goes offline. Pandora intends to use Rdio to expand its service offerings next year. Rdio declared bankruptcy in November and Pandora is acquiring select assets as part of the bankruptcy settlement.
