Cracked buttons theory
I am an AT&T employee who has been carrying this phone for over 8 months. In fact, my two brothers and my dad also upgraded to the W580 in December at the same time I did and we have never cracked any buttons. We have two black phones and two gray phones between the four of us. My cousin, also my co-worker, got his wife a pink W580 around January.
We have seen many of these phones returned and/or exchanged ...

I just saw an updated price list which said the release date for AT&T is scheduled for mid-October. The price listed was $129.99 with a $50 mail-in rebate. Of course this far in advance, that price is subject to change.

There's not much to prove. All it says is "SE W580i - Launches late August." Under the price column, it says TBD. I could post the whole document, but I'm not going to just in case that would violate any agreement my store has with AT&T since we have to log into a secure website just to get the pricing sheet. Sorry, I'm not taking any chances because I like to be employed.

I work for a Cingular (AT&T) authorized agent. I just looked at our phone pricing sheet, which says this phone is launching at the end of August and that the price has yet to be determined. The phones aren't always launched when the pricing sheet says they will be, but I wouldn't think it would be any later than September.
