Formatting it did the trick. Must be something about the way that works. When I installed the TF card it wrote the folders. Now it plays fine! Thanks, b.b.

V710 MP3 Player - what am I missing??

I have a 1287 meg TF card loaded into the phone. I moved a 3.5 meg mp3 file to the \motorola\audio\ directory. It shows up in the SOUNDS menu on the phone, but when I go to play it, it chirps then stops. Is there other software required for the phone to run MP3's? Some switch that needs to be thrown? Please don't tell me it is a software bug!! b.b.

I with I had read the old topics before I bought the 820?!?!? Weird though, the HS-820 is newer(?) with longer talk time, but cheaper than the HS810. Only at Motorola! b.b.

chrbut said: To answer your second question....The phone has some kind of power management feature to save on battery life where the keypad will only light up whenever necessary in low light or darkness. I verified this by turning the light on in a room at night and the keypad wouldn't light up. Just a feature I never knew about. The tech at verizon tought I had a bad phone out of the box, till I started ...

We all heard the rumors that VZW would disable the OBEX profiles, that was leaked fairly early in the release of this product. What concerns me at this point are the rumors that VZW may disable the trans flash capabilities with a firmware update. In that respect I think the case for a lawsuit rises as that capability was clearly advertised. The other thing that gripes me is the clear dis-ingenuousness of their "security" claim. There is no security ...

But it seems like some stores from what people are saying still are selling them so i guess it just all depends on where u live or some places just havent pulled them off yet. The weird thing is...my lense isn't tilted. ...

Just curious. I bought my V710 on August 11. I have never done any updates (PRI's etc) and am wondering if anyone has a different software version than me. 8700_01.30.8F I have not experienced any of the troubles spoken of, well, the camera sucks for a 1.3 MP, but no lockups, all the software works etc. b.b.

Disabling TransFlash

Can someone explain to me HOW Verizon can get away with DISABLING a feature on a phone already purchased? Most companies ADD features to software and the like. Also, since I already purchased a TF card, does this give me an "out" on my contract with Verizon? b.b.
