CLARIFICATION: Verizon Wireless V CAST Music - MP3 vs. WMA Files
Okay, for all you confused or irritated about not being able to access your MP3 files with V CAST Music, check this out: http://www.pcworld.com/resource/article/0,aid ,124357,pg,1,RSS,RSS,00.asp
Basically, you can't download and purchase MP3 files on your phone, but you CAN transcode MP3s that are on your computer to use on your phone: "Microsoft's Windows Media Player 10 enables the transcoding of other audio file formats into WMA." The MP3s just remain on your computer.

Yes, it's true that V CAST Music capable phones play WMA files but it's really easy to convert your MP3 files to WMA files. I was able to get my hands on the music essentials kit and used it with my 8100 to easily convert my MP3 files to WMA for my phone. Just a suggestion, I would get a tri-mode phone just in case you hit some spots where you still need to roam on analog. All of the major metropolitan areas are digital but when you start traveling throughout certain parts of the country (Kansas for example) you may be better off with a tri-mode phone. The digital phone won't pick up an analog signal. Check out the Samsung a650, but there are other options including ...
