Re: Not throttled, capped
Typically a lot of companies don't cap, they throttle. Some people may think that they won't just have no data if they go through their allotment.
Re: LOLZ
Your spreadsheet analogy makes sense, but is it really that much of a hassle to call them right back after they have the file? For some people it's important but not for me, I guess. Different strokes etc
Re: LOLZ
Oh yeah, I remember that AT&T ad.
I've never used my phone as a hotspot (never really needed to) but I hadn't thought of that, makes sense.
I have had to look up some information while on my phone but usually I'm in front of my computer or I just call people back after I've looked it up.
Re: LOLZ
It seems like a fair compromise to me, though. I mean, I've never had to go on the internet at the same time as I was making a phone call, ever, at any time in my past, and I cannot think of a situation where I'd need to use it.
It offers faster data (which Sprint really needs) as well as more reliable voice communications and better battery life. Three very crucial pros to one con that most people won't ...
Fantastic deal
Wow. These phones look like a bargain! First Motorola with their Moto G and now this. I really hope that this develops into a trend where we will be seeing inexpensive but still feature rich phones.
If I didn't already buy a Moto G I'd be pretty interested. I may just end up buying this anyways!
Re: I don't say it often, but
The only huge difference I see is that the Typo looks way cheaper.
Re: Bunch of dumb hicks
Nice bait.
Re: Bunch of dumb hicks
How was he being racist? He could have been a little bit more tactful with his observation, and I don't necessarily agree with it but he's not being racist.
Re: This sounds like...
I'm 100% sure that if the government wants to spy on us they wouldn't wait until google made taking a picture with a voice command a feature for their phones. What are they going to do, actually go up to our phones and say "OK Google, take a picture?" I'm laughing so hard just thinking of some NSA goons sitting around a table and having a conversation like "Google has finally done it! Now we can spy on people! ...
Re: Or you can buy a Nexus or iPhone
Actually, yes, it probably is quite a big difference. You could have the best of both worlds and get a play store version of the Galaxy, though.
I think the name comes from
The Milky Way, as in a Galaxy, which just so happens to be the name of Samsung's phone lineup? I think I'm really reaching here but at least that's some sort of a correlation.
Re: stop trying to make BBM happen
Why? I hear it's a good service.
Re: Disregard the G Flex
Well, I mean it is possible to tell the difference I'm sure but a 1440p screen is really REALLY overdoing it on a mobile device. Also I really don't like the implication that Samsung's garish and tacky OLEDs are the "best."
Re: Larger 720p screen with a slow dual core processor
Thanks for the correction, Rich!
Re: 500MBs/2GBs. . .
Actually this is a very good point. As a matter of fact it's pretty much the same situation with me. I actually have to put my phone in a locker before I go into work on threat of termination and when I'm home I have wifi. The most I use data for is GPS and internet radio.
Re: Larger 720p screen with a slow dual core processor
The point is that a weaker processor is going to have a hard time pushing all those pixels to this gargantuan screen. So yes, it's a big screen, but I highly doubt you'll be able to play any games on it and trying to watch videos will probably result in stuttering, lag and unresponsiveness. So if you care about a large screen then it's great. If you care about actually using your phone and getting performance out of it ...
Re: Disregard the G Flex
Huh? What makes you say that? According to the review it seemed to be a decent phone.
Re: 500MBs/2GBs. . .
I'm pretty sure Us Cellular is prepaid which is definitely not intended for heavy data users such as yourself. I have been getting by on T-Mobile's 1500 Talk/Text and 30MB of edge and granted it has been miserable but I didn't go into it expecting a premium experience. I went into it knowing it was a cheap plan.
Re: Hope So!!!!
The Moto X was actually a very good phone. Motorola probably would have done very well under Google. But, like you said they probably just wanted those patents.
Re: Not a bad phone for the price, only a few questions:
I was just about to say this. ZTE and Huawei are 2 companies that I immediately steer clear of.
Re: North-amero-centric worldview.
By Canuckistan I think he jokingly meant Canada.
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
Damn. Here I thought I was better than that!
And yeah, I guess I really don't fit into that group, it's just I feel like if I said so I'd come across as someone who obnoxiously screams "I'm different! I'm better than those other people!" When in reality I'm just different, not necessarily better.
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
I appreciate the compliment. I apologize for my hot headed response before.
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
Well, I haven't actually seen the figures, so I may be mistaken. I was only speaking from personal experience.
One thing I certainly can agree with you is that this is a bad policy that Apple is adopting. I can't say it's as bad as everyone else is making it out to be because it's not a necessary feature anyways. I always have some form of payment with me anyways. NFC isn't a feature most people, young or old are ...
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
You're going to disagree with me so you can make generalizations? And no, it's definitely not just my generation, I don't know how you can even say that. It's also incorrect to imply that our generation is the only one that has ever thought with it's lower extremities and is ruining everything. What about the free love movement of the 70s? It's happened before.
What I've learned is people are people, and spreading a group of them paints a ...
Re: Antenna Gate Wins
"Along comes this generation that likes to think with its lower extremities rather than using common sense. Pay extra for this and pay extra for that."
I am so goddamn sick of people like you talking down to a group of people that includes myself. And just for your ****ing information while I worked at my minimum wage part time job while still paying for groceries, gas, phone, and rent, 90%of the customers who bought or had an iPhone were ...
Re: Interesting
Yeah, I think so as well. But the rebirth of an extinct OS would be cool although it's not going to happen.
Interesting
I know Qualcomm manufactures mobile hardware but not necessarily phones. I wonder if Qualcomm will do anything with those patents towards reviving Palm? It's very unlikely but it would be really cool to see another competing OS.
Re: Differences?
Thanks to the both of you!
Re: Differences?
I see, thanks for the info!
Differences?
I am at work right now so otherwise I would research this myself, but is there any difference between the Moto G being sold on the Play Store opposed to the one being sold directly from Motorola?
I doubt it, but seeing as how I plan on buying one soon this is relevant to me!
Those speeds tho
Oh man, that's incredible. I know they're only test speeds but that's just incredible. 140 mbps+?! I don't even know what you'd need more than 20 mbps for for a single household, let alone a single phone!
Amazing.
I think
What they mean is that it uses the Kepler architecture which is what their current desktop GPUs use.
Re: Re: Re: No dude
hep, DarkStar here is just trolling you. Just don't bother feeding him. He's just ****posting for the sake of ****posting, but what he forgets is that even though he's doing it as a joke he's still ****posting.
Re: HA!
Yeah, they're cool and all but they don't seem very practical. It would be neat to talk into your watch a la Dick Tracy.
Re: HA!
Apple? What? It sounds like you think the Pebble is manufactured by Apple, which it isn't. It's for android devices. And it's not that bad. It sounds like you're judging it based solely on the fact that you thought it was Apple, which it isn't in the first place.
Re: Breeze iv connected computer
Maybe this will help:

Re: Big deal?
lmao oh christ
get a load of this guy
Cool!
I would so be interested in this. I'm essentially doing the same thing on T-mobile's $30 prepaid plan with google voice anyways. But then again, you know, Sprint. And when the whole thing requires a decent data connection to make a call, I can see where there may be some very serious issues.
Re: I'd be so there if it was "sense-less".
I seriously think we should get the phones stock, and have the option to change the firmware to something more sense later on if the consumer wants to. I personally have no problems with sense, but stock is best.
