WHat if you already have 4G unlimited from the beginning on an individual account?

Can I still be able to keep it, you think, since I opened my account with them as a 4G customer. I would hope they'd let me keep my existing plan if they want us to be their customer. Also, even if they force us to a data share plan, who will I share it with? I am only one device and one account.

Prolly cuz it has to go thru the carriers, who'll undoubtedly try to figure out how to sell this with a tethering fee in it somehow.

Does anyone know if I could get LTE data on a prepaid sim on a supported smartphone?

I'm pretty sure some fanboys think that it could. I read somewhere that not having the iphone led to T-Mobile losing a lot of customers than other carriers. Of course, other reasons factor into T-mobile's situation.

I read somewhere (found it), that AT&T could probably avoid the breakup fee if the deal fails. Knowing AT&T, this would not surprise me. Either way, should be interesting to see where this heads... http://www.cellular-news.com/stor y/50762.php http://webcache.googleusercont ent.com/search?q=cache:yZ9S-Z-GP7cJ:www.mobil ebusinessbriefing.com/api/cookie.aspx%3FASPSE SSID%3Dbqaova455c1dlyvxyxs0umva%26returnurl%3 Dhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.mobilebusinessbriefin g.com%252Farticles%252Freport-at-t-may-have-g et-outs-on-t-mobile-usa-breakup-fee%252F17116 %252F+&cd=19&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us

If they had it long before vz got it, then they probably would have retained more of their customers.

I agree that all carriers need to get better coverage, but I'd rather AT&T spend their money to expand their LTE coverage, but on a widescale basis instead of getting it only to certain metro areas. They need to get LTE to all of their native footprint, rural or otherwise. I believe, however, that the transition from 1xRTT to CDMA-EVDO was easier than from GSM to W-CDMA. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I thought transition from CDMA to LTe required new hardware, so it would be no different from W-CDMA to LTE.

We don't, but there may be issues with existing phones (hardware limitations, carrier/manufacturers not willing to spend resources on the updates) that will make us not see ICS. However, since android releases have calmed down to about 2/yr, it should probably be easy to update phones without the fragmentation issue.

I agree with ya, ICS will most likely be a no show. Unofficially though, there will be plenty of options. I wish carriers would agree for swift updates for atleast 2 years on their phones (to reflect contract length).

Well, I guess that could work, but sometimes my cable modem can be very slow or really fast depending on when. I think a simple solution would be to tell what tech it is, and the expected speeds (and guarantee those speeds, most importantly). That's what I liked about Verizon, when they mentioned the range of speeds to be (5-12mb down and 2-5mb up), as opposed to AT&T, who's just saying, and I quote, "its 10x faster". 10x faster than ...

I read somewhere that Cincinnati Bell supposedly released the specs for the iphone 5 (or 4S). If its true they're carrying it, then that version should work on T-Mobile's hspa network. Of course, that still doesn't mean (or make it) that T-Mobile will carry it, in which case, you gotta fork out the money. http://www.slashgear.com/iphone-5-specs-l eaked-by-cincinnati-bell-01184707/

Since the thunderbolt uses a SIM card, it doesn't have the *228 functionality. When the phone restarts, it automatically updates the PRL, if thats what you want.
