Re: Help with MP3 player
My D807 won't "see" any of my MP3's on my memory chip, even though my Motorola v3i seems them all? Am I doing something wrong?
Battery life
The specs on this phone suggest a significantly shorter amount of battery life than the other similar MOTO phones, even with the same battery. Is this due to the slider nature of the phone and the fact that the one screen is "always on"? Is there some other reason. Since I use my v3i as a MP3 player, the battery life is important to me.
Re: Is a 1 GB mem card okay to use in the V3i?
Yes. I have a 1GB card (with a non-iTunes version), and it works great.
Re: UMTS Question
Thanks. This means that the new technology for this phone only works where Cingular has rolled out the advanced network?
UMTS Question
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how does the UMTS work? In particular, if I have a wifi system in my house, can I program it to work on that system?
Re: 1GB Card on V3i
The whole 1GB
Re: 1GB Card on V3i
I have the version with the Motorola Music Player, not iTunes. I do not know if that affects the maximum memory.
Re: 1GB Card on V3i
I have a 1GB card purchased off eBay, and it works perfectly in the v3i.
Re: Yes but. . .
I would say the Motorola Media Player is "ok" but not great. There are 2 specific problems. One is that it only plays music in the MP3 format, so you cannot download music off of systems that have another format (e.g., WMA) that is locked. Also, the transfer rate from the computer to the phone is awfully slow. Beyond that, the player looks a fair amount like iTunes in the sense of being able to ...
Re: Yes but. . .
I have a v3i without iTunes, and I've got over 100 songs on my 512 card.
Re: Great Phone... don't wait for Cingular...
I've had the phone for about 3 months. I've never flexed or flashed, and I don't know how to do that or why I would. What does flexing and flashing add? And how easy is it to do?
Re: What does iTunes do?
iTunes has the nice feature that everytime you connect your phone to the computer, iTunes will "sync" all of your music from the computer to the phone. However, it is NOT true that the non-iTunes version of the phone has a 50 song limit. My v3i, which came from Hong Kong, does not have a 50 song limit; in fact, I have well over 100 songs on my 512 card.
Re: need help
This has happened to me. Take out the SIM and the memory card, and put them back in very snug.
"Invalid Battery"
I travel a lot and often when I turn the phone back on after a flight, the phone says "invalid battery." I then have to take the battery out and put it back in. Anybody ever have this problem or know why it happens?
Re: a few questions
The "time delay" is not really all that noticeable. I was comparing it to a Nokia 6230, my previous phone, on which everything seems "instantaneous." I wouldn't worry about it.
Re: a few questions
1. I have not flexed or flashed, but I have no problems on Cingular.
2. I have no problems sending text messages and picture messages.
3. I do not receive text messages when I get a VM, just the normal envelope at the top of the screen.
4. I did not purchase any insurance. I understand (but cannot confirm) that the normal Motorola 1-year warranty appies, although I can't say how easy it might be to use ...
Re: ALARM CLOCK!!!
It definitely has an alarm clock -- several in fact.
Doesn't accept WMA format?
Does anybody know if the Motorola Music Player accepts the WMA format? I've downloaded a few WMA songs to the card, but it's not seeing those songs. Not sure if I'm doing something wrong.
Re: Anyone Tried On Cingular???
I just posted my MMS settings in the prior thread. They are working for me. If they don't work for others, I have no explanation.
Re: Browser Settings
There are tons of threads on www.howardforums.com that contain the Internet settings. You will NOT be able to use Media Net, but if you download mini.opera.com's browser, it should work fine.
As to the MMS settings, delete what you have now and create the following default:
Service Name: MMS
Server Name: http://mmsc.cingular.com
Web Session Name: Media Net
This has worked for me.
Re: Anyone Tried On Cingular???
My phone also says it is roaming; not sure why.
As to the MMS settings, I got them from howardforums.com -- try the Motorola section. There are a number of threads discussing the v3i.
Re: Anyone Tried On Cingular???
It took a combination of things. For MMS and internet access, I found the settings in a thread at http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t= 821621. For Media Net, I have never been able to get it to work. Instead, I downloaded the mini opera browser -- www.mini.opera.com -- which seems to perform quite well. Also, if you have trouble, I would call Cingular and ask them to trouble-shoot your settings; the settings are the same for the v3 as the ...
Re: Anyone Tried On Cingular???
I purchased the phone at saberpoint.com, which seems to have a fairly good price. The connectivy on Cingular has been excellent. It took awhile to get the Internet features to work, and I cannot get much at the Cingular media.net site, but I'm using the mini-opera browser (mini.opera.com), which works great. The MMS also is working now. So, all in all, I'm very happy with the phone. The only "downside" I have found thus ...
Can you use this phone on an airplane?
I don't see that in any of the Motorola literature.
Razr won't ring when plugged in
It rings perfectly when not plugged in, but as soon as I plug it in, it goes silent, even though the setting says "loud". Any thoughts?
Re: Availability
It's on Cingular's web site (at least in Los Angeles), and I picked it up from a store in Los Angeles last week (although I had to call 5 stores to find it).
"Buzzing" with the Treo 600
My Treo 600 (on Cingular network) has a bad background "buzz" that I cannot hear but is terrible for those with whom I am speaking. I've turned down the volume, but this hasn't helped. The "buzz" comes and goes. Anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?
