Re: Why Shouldn't the same rules apply?
I agree with T Bone here, same rules should apply reguardless on who it is. Also if you reread it states that AT&T was concerned about them using the 700 spectrum, which is the one they are using. This is a valid concern and any carrier would raise this issue to the FCC. I think its pretty hilarious that everyone has become very anti AT&T over the T-Mob merger. T-mobile would not have accepted the ...
Re: Is this a Joke?
I disagree. With AT&T adding another 40+million customers you can't just cut jobs. I believe that it will create more competition in the current market however. Example would be the current Authorized retailers and T-mobile Corporate stores. Though not all those locations will remain open, I am betting that they will be offered jobs to help sustain the current number of customers that T-Mobile has. As far as call centers go, those couldn't be ...
Does it Matter?
Does it really matter? The iPhone 4s isn't 4g capable anyways except for on AT&T which is using the very base line of their HSPA+ network (HSDPA). Thus, your talking and surfing isn't going to happen unless you Rethink Possible.
p.s. you know you like the slogan usage lol
Re: Poor CDMA users
The 4s will not be HSPA+ it is HSDPA (http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/11/10/0 4/iphone_4s_new_14_4_mbps_hsdpa_4g_speeds_won t_help_americans.html)
The difference between HSPA+ and HSDPA is pretty significant. Being that HSPA+ is the backhaul for 4g and HSDPA is just a faster 3g, HSPA+ is still about 2 to 3 times faster. Though this phone will be way faster then the previous iPhones I have to say that I am disappointed that Apple postponed its initial launch and still couldn't put out a 4g product.
Re: So there may be hope.
When a company bids 39 Billion you would think they did their research. So assuming of course they did, the merger is eventually going to happen. However I am not anti-merger, I think it would be great for both companies (as do both companies). T-Mobile has been struggling for years, and their best nitch in the industry is their price point. However when it comes to their network, it always has issues and takes forever ...

Re: Ha ha ha, Oh Wow.
Your an Angry Elf
By the way your bill is due, oh and I still don't see the "Proof" of why "AT&T Is Full of Sh*t, And Always Has Been". One Person's flawed opinion and mistake doesn't make them full of Sh*t. If that was the case every company including your precious Verizon would be full of Sh*t. Your sadly mistaken if your the only one that has an issue with a wireless company. But ...
Re: Ha ha ha, Oh Wow.
First off you posted this 2 times, secondly apparently I am not the only one that thinks your an idiot. And setting up billing arrangements with Verizon doesn't make you in good standing. I am sure that when you don't pay your bill with them, they will be attempting to contact you.. make sure your info is up to date this time... Oh and as far as me reconstructing what you said, re read your own ...
Re: Ha ha ha, Oh Wow.
Dude your time line and story are changing the more mad you become lol.. First off, you now say you are disaster relief when it started out that you were in Time Square on New Years Eve. I sorry that everyone in Time Square was most likely making a phone call with you at the sametime, but seriously New Years Eve those towers are extremely overwhelmed. Do me a favor, and stop using one of the ...
Re: AT&T Is Full Of Sh*t, And ALWAYS Has Been - HERE'S PROOF!
4 Things for you,
1. If you "paid your bill" like you claim, which you most likely didn't, you could have taken your bank statement to an AT&T store showing your final payment. If they match up that would have been corrected. AT&T like most carriers would most likely contact you telling you that you didn't pay your bill. They will do this via email, text message if you keep your number, and postal. If you ...
Re: AT&T responds to justice department lawsuit
Apperently you guys are a bit blind. 1. If AT&T was not trying to be innovative, why would they have made an exclusive contract with APPLE to get the iPhone for as long as they did. Other carriers had their shot before AT&T did and turned it down. Also not sure if you have noticed but AT&T's phone line up is currently about 75% smartphones with most of them being Android. AT&T has been carrying the Androids ...
Re: corporate store only? or will indirect stores get to handle it?
Based on what they did for AT&T, indirects will not carry this phone at launch, and let me tell you this is not a bad thing. When you are able to carry this phone there is a good chance your company will have to change there comp structure because the phone has really poor gross profit. Keep selling people into droids because you wont make anything selling this phone.
Re: No fix.
This should be a deal breaker for anyone. I guess since you are probably new to the iphone you have no clue that most of the applications, especially the free ones because they run ads, accessing the internet while you are in the app. For you verizon users that basically means if your using an app you wont be recieving phone calls or txt messages til your done goofing around in the app..
Re: Tried it myself, and...
Well said... AT&T's network works well with pretty much every other phone including the Droids. iPhones are the only ones with complaints, and honostly when you sell a million phones even if only 1% have issues that is still 10,000 phones we have to hear about having issues which is a pretty significant number.

Re: Won't hurt Verzion
PC world did a test on that.. I have a print out from when they did it but I can not find the link. (I work in the cellular industry thats why I have the print out)

sorry the bold got stuck there for some reason

@island-guy
"All this At&t backlash is quite comforting given all of the crap they gave me over the years....aah"
Pay your bill on time and they will leave you alone
Re: Guess iphone will be on Verizon soon
Please, oh, Please put the iPhone on Verizon. That way I can laugh at all the retards that think their network can support such a powerful phone. Couple points to support this is that it has taken AT&T years to keep the network stable with all of the "Smartphones"(not just iPhones) on their network. AT&T has more smartphones on their network (thanks to the iPhone of course) then any other carrier. I have been in ...
Re: If Vzn was allowed to buy Alltel, then ATT should be allowed to buy Tmo
Probably not, I would agree.. Its pretty far fetched
Re: If Vzn was allowed to buy Alltel, then ATT should be allowed to buy Tmo
SMCGARVEY6, you really need to consider what your saying before you type it out. Luckily dmjr2000 said it about right. The Tmob Towers will not just disappear. Infact the huge benefit you will recieve from a merger like AT&T would be an increased signal in other areas, and if it was AT&T that merged with TMob, you would then have 120million customers that you would be able to call for free instead of like 40million as ...
Re: FCC don't forget verizon and their FORCED $10 data requirements!!!
Also one other thing to note is this is only if the customer is getting the new unlimited plan, this does not apply to basic plans.
Re: FCC don't forget verizon and their FORCED $10 data requirements!!!
This is true, but most people buying QWERTY keyboards are getting unlimted SMS, thus they are covered. But again AT&T also didn't increase their ETF to rediculous prices on stupid phones like verizon did. Verizon is hands down the biggest rip off anyone can buy.
Re: Bye Bye Verizon!
Nikkifm, keep in mind that merging IDEN network with CDMA is kind of like merging CDMA with GSM, not gonna happen. Sprint planned on using the technology of the Push to Talk on CDMA like how it is on IDEN and that is where their issue occured. The lag on CDMA for push to talk is like 1.5 seconds, where Nextel is like .2 seconds something like that.
AT&T's main issue with data IS because of the ...
Re: Bye Bye Verizon!
What a true statement Desol. I have sold just about every Major carrier in my wireless career and some people with defend their companies to the end! Every carrier has their advantages. Sprint most definately has the most reliable and fastest data network hands down. If you verizon people don't believe me, do a speed test yourself and you will see how bad you get whooped (goto speakeasy.com for speed test). At&t and T-Mobile internet don't ...
Re: $350 ETA? My Vote: Keep them!
I agree and don't agree with you on this. Keep in mind I am in the wireless industry. However, contracts were really designed because people in the United States do want something for free. This is almost soloy why we have contracts. The UK pay full price for their phones and their services are prepaid. Now breaking terms of a contract and paying an ETF is not made because people can't honor their word. Don't get me wrong I ...
Re: FCC don't forget verizon and their FORCED $10 data requirements!!!
Your wrong about one other thing too Aethix. AT&T only requires Data on Blackberry's/Smartphones. The only other time they require a feature is if you have a QWERTY keyboard phone and want their new unlimited plan. Tmobile does the exact same thing with their Blackberry's/Smartphonse and I believe the Samsung Memoir (correct me if I am wrong about the Memoir). I worked for Tmobile when they put these mandatory data requirements in place and AT&T ...
Re: Get off verizons nuts
Verizon does the same thing to AT&T. Its obvious that you have no idea what your talking about and I can assure you that they are not going behind the scenes to develope plans like this, otherwise you wouldn't see commercials bashing on eachother as hard as they do currently. It was clear when Tmobile reduced their unlimted plans even lower then Sprint that something was going to have to be done to compete, and that was ...
Re: This is frinkin BS!!!!!!!!!
Try T-Mobile, you will be back to AT&T in a week. I used to be a Tech for Tmobile and I will tell you that their service is always having issues. The reason you see cheaper Tmobile plans is because Tmobiles network is Tiny compared to AT&T. You want coverage, its gonna cost you a little bit more.
Re: This is frinkin BS!!!!!!!!!
Don't do this with your iPhone. AT&T does not support the use of the iPhone the GoPhone plans and I have seen it all to often where people put their iPhone on a PrePaid and it eats all their money in a matter of hours. Again because this phone is not supported by use of PrePaid AT&T does not have to give your money back... This is just a warning.
Re: Man Up. Stop crying. And look at the facts people.
Good post, I agree and don't agree with some of it though. If every manufactorer started doing this we would have a riot on our hands. This is kind of the price you pay for getting into the wireless industry. I think that if companies wanna minimize losses they should just sell the phone for an expensive cost. iPhone retail is something like $700 buy out but you don't see APPLE slappinging their own cancelation ...
Re: U callin me a honkey?
Lance if you truly believe that your a jackass. I bet your one of the smart people that voted for Obama and his "change". Oh wait thats right, he now realizes he can't change anything. I didn't know Michael Moore commented on Phonescoop and if you want to take your conspiracy theories elsewhere that would be fantastic being that this is a phone website, which is the same thing I said in my original post.
Re: Understand
Is that a comment or a question? I personally left Verizon for AT&T because my reception was terrible and I have had Zero reception problems with AT&T. Verizon's "Can you hear me now" guy is traveling the country trying to find a spot where he can talk to the other person on the other end without dropping his call or losing his signal. Not thats just personal opinion. I seriously had no signal in the ...
Sounds about right
Sounds about right for Tmobile. I used to work for Tmobile and their network is always having issues. I have seen Known network issues like unable to access the web last 6 months in some places. Rediculous.
Re: Understand
Ya I agree my math is the extreme but at a rate that drops $10 a month after 60 days your still 7 months out before you break even on buy out cost. Either way, this is just like Verzion to jerk their customers around, no other company is jumping on this banwagon for now and there is a reason why, its stupid. But like I said its just like Verizon to pull something like this. ...

Re: U callin me a honkey?
Acculab your as blind as the next guy. First off let me say that this is a Phone Forum, not a place for you to throw your so called politics around. Second off if you wanna play that game its very easily reversed. Clearly we can see that you follow Obama. You probably voted for him so you can see the CHANGE! Oh ya! Now tell me what in the hell he has changed. ...
Re: Understand
Shift I already talked about this and apperently for you reading is a ruff task as well but you need to reread what I said. The point I was making is that if a company overcharges for an ETF they will be making more money then what the buy out cost is. Maybe you can't understand that, so I will make it simple for you peanut. Verizon sells a Blackberry 8530 for $79.99 on a 2yr contract! ...
Re: Consumer
Azeron I know reading can be sort of a difficult task but you may need to reread my posts. I never once tried determine that Verizon or any other network's pricing however I do think it needs to be reevaluated. If I was trying to determine their pricing I would have told you what I thought I should pay. Again most carrier's are going to pay the same amount to support a network and if Sprint ...
Re: Understand
I actually have to agree with Jay a bit. I actually have been in the Mobile Phone Industry for 5 years now and I have seen it grow leaps and bounds. One thing it definitely has grown in is features. I remember when unlimited text messaging was $10!! Now it is at least $20 for most networks. You can try and say that Verizon is trying to support their network by charging so much but ...
