Re: Sure--
My first car ever (1989 Volvo Wagon) was clunky, squared off, and huge - but it served me well, and could certainly take a lickin and keep on tickin! And it was definitely frickin' cool. ;)
Re: I've been saying this all along...
amen. I can't wait to see one of these in action...
Kyocera might not be at the height of fashion, but they have usually built solid devices (7135, anyone??).
Re: "Winey little runts"
Ditto. Let's hear it for the runts! :D
(although shouldn't it be whiney little runts? Unless Sprint is soaked in wine, in which case it makes more sense...)
Re: "who in the govt needs to be paid off so they agree to this."
Every day since the merger was announced, I have had at least one T-Mobile customer come to my Sprint kiosk and say they'd rather die than give one single dollar to AT&T.
Win for Sprint!
And for y'all still bashing Sprint's coverage - give it a fair shot. Sure, it used to be lousy. But that was so three years ago.
I had Big Red for 9 years, and just switched (after 2 years of working for Sprint!), and I have ...
Re: Just a lot of--
Agreed.
Re: Since Sprint isnt partnering with ISIS, does that mean mobile payments arent in Sprints future?
Interesting question. I guess we'll have to wait and see - I hope Sprint won't pass on something as revolutionary as this.
And I hear you about Verizon - I just ported out yesterday, and I'm loving my new Evo Shift! :D
Re: Of course it's WiMax enabled!
unless it's a simple over-the-air software update to switch from one to the other. Which would be super cool.
Re: FINALLY!
Looks like the Evo Shift, which does NOT have a dedicated number row. :(
Re: Whatever...
lol... silver moto Q...
Re: Save me from the people that would save me from myself.......
I miss him. :(
Re: Ban Sexy Clothes
when I was in like 6th grade (which was longer ago than I care to admit), our bus driver ran straight into a light pole - in the middle of an otherwise empty parking lot.
Because one of the High School students was blowing in her ear, so she covered her ears with her hands and drove with her elbows. (I kid you not!)
Re: it' not the pedestrians, stupid! it' the car!
Re: Darwins Theory.
I'm with you on that one!
Re: Darwins Theory.
brilliant! :D
Re: They should also ban deaf people from walking on the streets
I'm pretty sure deaf people who are crossing a street are looking around to make sure it's safe, NOT looking down at what's in their hands!
I am tempted to ask you to grow up, but I'm trying to be nice. ;)

Re: USB modems but not smartphones. . .
I have to agree with you on that one, Jayshmay!
Re: Service is out!
this news article really tickled my funny bone. I'm pretty sure it's in the running for the shortest PS article EVER.
In all my years as a VZW employee, I never heard an admission like this. Is Big Red getting soft in its old age??

Re: and then they realize...
woah take it easy on Blackberry! I'd rather google than bing any day of the week, regardless of what device I'm using.
Re: Dang.. What about the Epic??
Anyway! Another reason to go with HTC instead - they're much faster with updates!
Re: Perception
I agree. Well said, Slammer!
Re: Well Now....
HA!
Good one.
Hyundai's first hybrid, 2011
Let me start by saying I am NOT a fan of Apple. I think they make decent products, and then cripple them by being control freaks.
That being said, this whole discussion about no 4G in the VZW iPhone reminds me of an add I saw in Motor Trend the other day. It read something like this:
Why is it 2011 and we're just now releasing our first hybrid?
Answer: they weren't ready to sacrifice power for fuel economy. They waited until ...
Re: You could not pay me to use any Iden phone
Thank you.
Not every service is right for everyone. Here in PA, we have a HUGE, die-hard iDen customer base, and they're already freaking out about the impending phase-out that isn't scheduled to start until 2013.
Nextel was built around Direct Connect. I believe it was the first all-digital network, and is the only 1G service still around. And it is still unmatched when it comes to direct connect speed.
Does it stink for texting, internet, etc? Of course. If you want ...
Re: Verizon?
I hope so too. You can't beat Sprint's plans, but I'm stuck with Verizon since it's the only carrier that works on the mountain where my little brother built his wigwam.
As long as he's on my share plan, I'm stuck...
Re: Oh, so...
Hey, I got that text! My phone was never the same after that...
Re: Sprint, what is the point?
Won't this most likely work like the analog shutdown? Or am I the only one who remembers that??
I worked in New England for Verizon Wireless at that time. Plenty of people said "oh they can't shut down analog, what a horrible decision, they'll lose so many customers, I have service everywhere with my 3-lb analog handset, blah blah blah..."
Yeah right.
Re: Sign a 2 year contract in 2011...

Re: Honestly
WebOS rocks.
I can understand the complaint about the keyboard - but die-hard palm users love it. And I do value the ability to type one-handed (which is one of the many reasons I'm a Blackberry kind of gal). ;)
Re: Time to retire my trusted 7050
There is definitely a big market for a phone like this. Can't wait to see one!
Whiskey7, just having EVDO itself is a battery drainer, whether you have PTT or not.
Re: Sprint/ClearWire coverage map...
I would say that's pretty clear in the original post.
Ha ha! Pretty CLEAR... Boy, I must be tired if I'm cracking myself up on PhoneScoop! :D
Re: d00d
I'm with Jay - the Lounge is over-rated.

Re: This is excellent news
I'm with you, Menno. This is brilliant - and who better than you to head things up? ;)
Re: 2013 for iDEN phase out.
because towards the end there, Nextel was practically paying customers to have their service! Crazy plans, with 47,000 minutes and unlimited direct connect, for like $0.12 a month.
Ok, obviously I am exaggerating - but Sprint chose to let those customers keep those plans, as long as they stayed with a Nextel phone.
From a customer standpoint, that's a big plus - Verizon made my little brother change his plan with the quickness when they bought out his service provider.
It ...
Re: 2013 for iDEN phase out.
Actually, they DO use Nextel Direct Connect! Crazy loophole, their barns can have electricity, and the rules don't forbid cell phones, only house phones. So you can be in the middle of farm country, and still hear that infamous "Chirp" !!
Re: Great Scott!!!!!!!!
Have y'all thought about trying to somehow harvest the power in lighting? Oh wait, one never knows when or where it will strike......
Re: 2013 for iDEN phase out.
well said, AJ.
Although I'd say it did pretty well, for a 1G technology...
I live in Lancaster County, PA, and I bet we will have LOTS of angry customers in 2013 - iDen still has a huge, active customer base here!
Re: Sprint being smart?
Sprint already owns 51% of Clear. Why would they "let them drown" ??
It seems like Sprint isn't interested in owning towers. It's more cost-effective to pay roaming agreements, and let someone else absorb the cost of maintaining the network itself.
Re: Has Sprint marketed their customer service in the past 12 months?
y'all are out of your minds.
Sprint is the most-improved company in customer service across ALL industries in the past 2 years, according to the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index.
Sprint moved ahead of AT&T and Verizon in the 2010 J.D. Power Retail Satisfaction Study.
And Newsweek ranked Sprint #6 among the 500 Greenest Companies - again, across ALL industries.
Verizon DOES have the best network out there. Which is why Sprint has roaming agreements with Verizon, and in my experience (I'm ...
Re: what about navigation?
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!
Re: Always tell the truth?
I think that is a pretty safe assumption.
And I am totally ok with this, actually I'm surprised it wasn't already in place!
