Re: Finally
Well time to call every call center ever and subtley hint that phones cost too much. You're a good man Downscripting. I wish I had that authority!
Re: To be entirely fair
Oh it's a phenomenal device on paper, I was just saying that my only qualm is materials. Not like I'm going to pass on the only high end phone with a removable battery because it's made of plastic!!
Re: Finally
Just vague enough to work...
Also, SURELY YOU JEST...
Re: Finally
8O Where do you work? I'd like to reserve one S4.
Re: Finally
Knowing Big Red, they'll wait nine months and then release a stripped down, single core 1.0GHz, 128MB RAM, 8GB version running Android 4.0 and call it the S4.
I jest. Mostly.
Re: WTF!
Relevant username is relevant haha.
Fanboy-ism needs to die. I remember back in 2006 when the new gen of videogame consoles were coming out and fanboys were rampant. Now...no one really cares. I feel like we've gotten to a point in tech where are informed enough to just buy something they like and not pester others.
On the other hand, maybe it's just because I've removed myself from most of those sources of fanboy-ism.
Re: Who is most interested in this real estate?
5"+ is great and all, but I feel OEMs should stick with the smallest possible screen size until the general public can handle phones that large. I constantly get people telling me the 4.5" screen on the SII is too big, so...baby steps.
Re: To be entirely fair
For real. I'm pretty pleased with my GNex, but the SIII feels way cheaper, and assumedly the S4 will as well... As a flagship, it should be getting the deluxe treatment.
Re: To be entirely fair
That is absolutely true, but my point still holds true about a brand being more than a name.
I would love a premium Samsung device made with METAL. I would likely kill for one. Shoot, I'd pay an extra $50-100 for one.
Re: Yawn...
If he was "...addicted to the Apple [K]ool Aid[...]" he'd be saying the SAME thing. The 4S -> 5 was ridiculously underwhelming in terms of added features/content. The S4 at least adds a bunch of new software, in addition to sprucing up the hardware a bit.
People need to understand that a brand goes further than just the name "Galaxy", while that is a MAJOR part of it. You'd usually expect something in the same product line to look similar ...
Re: Consumers and the Beanstalk
That...that was beautiful...
Re: Well.....
"OH MY GOSH LOOK AT ALL OF THESE NEGATIVE REPURCUSSIONS SURROUNDING PEOPLE UNLOCKING THEIR PHONES! ...but ignore all that other bad stuff going on that we should probably focus our time/money on..."
-Illegalizes Unlocking Phones-
I'll say.
Re: Well.....
Perhaps the logic is that the FCC is requiring text messages to be sent, which are sent via the airwaves, therefore it's their authority.
Or not. Or they're overextending their role.
But it couldn't be that...
Re: Hopefully people see this for what it is...
I can agree with this.
That's why I think their logo has a bite taken out of it. That bite was someone else's idea. Apple just added more. Or something.
 Shut up.
Re: Well.....
I do find this quite bizarre.
If you're signed up for a service that bills you, you shouldn't need a reminder to tell you how much your bill is going to be.
Now I can get it being a convenience thing, but having it be instated by the FCC that it's mandatory? Meh.
What's with the black UI?
I just freshly installed this on my phone and my UI is the standard gray/offwhite version. These screenshots are showing a black UI that I think looks very slick, is there a hidden way to enable this? I couldn't find anything in the settings...
Re: White and Silver
I wish there wasn't such a drop in quality (manufacture-wise) between phones without removable batteries and those with.
Most phones with removable batteries (such as the SIII and successors) always end up being mostly plastic and feel cheap. As little of an Apple fan as I am, I have always loved the weight of the iPhone 4 series because it just felt solid.
Even my Galaxy Nexus feels lame in comparison to an iPhone (5's not included, those things are like ...
Re: Google
I do find this bizarre as well. But it makes sense in that iOS has a HUGE market and Google knows that.
Google likes money too!
Re: phone deal?
I wouldn't go with the DNA unless you don't like removable batteries, sub-par battery life and expandable storage (>16GB). Otherwise, it's a solid phone.
Re: Nobody can release anything in secret anymore
I was about to say just this. The FCC has been doing this forever, it's just as consumers we never had access to it until the waves of techblogs came in the mid-2000's and saturated us with all things mobile.
Re: Target Mobile isnt goin anywhere tho!
Right you are, it's being taken over by MarketSource and from what I hear Target is going to have a bigger play in it all. I'm a Target Mobile employee and from experience, RadioShack had a lot of problems on the Target Mobile side of things and I'm hoping that MarketSource clears them up. I know for a fact they are going to be focusing on advertising the wireless aspect of Target more than before. As far as I ...
Re: Based on the credit check...
"Phone Leper" status?
Re: Why the Calendar?
I believe so, yes.
My belief is that this affects all platforms but Android(?) since Android assumedly used features built into Android and not a Google Sync app.
Re: It's really a shame
slowandlong1 said:Is it possible the carrier would make such a request.
It IS possible, but I've never seen a carrier outwardly reject an SD slot before...they really have no reason to. I know a big reason the Nexus 4 doesn't have one (aside from the obvious benefits of lower girth and price) is because it promotes people to use Drive (a Google service) with their N4 (a Google phone). But aside from that, I have no idea.
Re: Very nice.
Yeah, I just noticed this. Poor implementation...
A good mobile app should be able to do everything the desktop alternate can do, you shouldn't require both!
Re: Very nice.
Hahaha, don't be friends with said people and you'll never see it! SHIELD YOUR EYES.
Very nice.
I've been waiting for Facebook to do something like this. G+ has had instant upload for a while now, it was only a matter of time before something like this spawned.
Re: Target mobile
Target Mobile rep, reluctantly reporting in...
And I was JUST about to get promoted to Store Manager as well...
How does it make sense that...
...the LTE version has a smaller battery?
The 810 has an 1800mAh battery while the 820 has only a 1650mAh battery. How does that even make sense?
Re: battery life
Well the GNex is known for its, let's say...mediocre...battery life.
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Ne...
Re: How dare they offer so much free stuff!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm_mark
Seriously?
What I'm getting from this is that they think that a company who blew up in the Internet Search is in violation of antitrust laws because it uses its search site to promote its other endeavors? Nonsense.
"Google exerts monopoly power over Internet searches"
So having a better product that more people use is considered a monopoly?
Also their request to divest Motorola Mobility has almost nothing to do with any of the issues that they bring up.
Jeeeez. Someone please tell ...
Re: typo
I believe it's probably "latest" haha.
Re: Misleading Claim
You do understand how difficult it is to figure this stuff out on a scientific level, never mind on a technological level yeah?
The important thing to note...
...is that it was listed as an 'LG Nexus 4'.
Gives some more momentum to the rumor of multiple OEMs and/or a NEW OEM over Samsung.
Re: wonder what they are putting into this...
Remember though, there's rumors of a LINE of Nexuses. If one doesn't fit your fancy, another will.
Hopefully... :paranoid:
While this is a nice gesture...
...I'd still rather use my FREE Google Navigation plugged in through an AUX input.
I mean I don't know if there's any reason you wouldn't be able to use an AUX input while using Sync (I've no experience with the tool), but that's the only way I can see anyone ever using these tools.
If I'm missing something, someone let me know.

I figured some things out. So Steve Jobs was hands down one of the best sales people you could ever ask for. He could sell you a paper bag for $100 if he truly wanted to.
Alright, I'll agree with you on that, the man was a fantastic salesman...
What people seem to forget though is that a MAC is half the power of a PC and yet it sells for 3x as much. The Iphone may be compatible ...
