Re: Old News
yes, but fcc details usually hint at a near release, usually within a month
Re: sprint or qwest
DirectConnect is a patented item from Nextel (sprint), however beings that qwest uses sprint's network (mvno) they can use the technology, sprint has exclusive rights to QChat for the next 10+ years. They however will never get a flagship phone first. Sprint decides when qwest gets to launch a phone, not qwest. handy part of the MVNO agreement.

Upstage Issues
I have been hearing lots of bad feedback on the new Samsung Upstage in 2 areas. Before I pick one up I was wondering if people here had heard the same.
The issues are:
1. Bluetooth Stereo only works for music not
videos and media player, ever sprint radio
2. Battery wallet make any bluetooth headset

Re: Do free nights and weekends start at 7p, or don't they?
It is not listed in their Terms & Conditions as it is in the rest of the carriers so he could very well be correct. Either way the bottom line is that it clearly says in Sprint's T&C's that:
How We Calculate Your Charges For Billing Purposes
Regular Voice Calls: We round up partial minutes of use to the next full minute. Time starts when you press "Talk" or your Device connects to the network and stops when ...
Re: also
Blocking the number will not always cancel the number. It will still get charged to your account even if the phone does not recieve it. Make sure the customer tells it to stop on verizon or it will continue to charge.
On Sprint you can block all premium messages but that only fixes the new ones. Old ones will still charge.
Re: Sprint Mobile Email
Yesterday i got a Sanyo 8400 and it works great. You can set up both the outgoing and incoming mail servers. I could do that on the A920 and A900 but got that error when trying to save the settings and test the connection. No idea why all of a sudden it started working. I don't have the 920 any more but when I get a chance I will try it on the A900. ...
Re: Sanyo 8400.. analog or not?
and they never will. It is an outgoing technology. Look at the map almost the whole country is covered with digital now anyway
Re: Sprint Mobile Email
Just moving this to the top.
Re: Sanyo 8400.. analog or not?
NO
Re: Sprint Mobile Email
Nobody tried it yet :?
Re: wombough
Sprint never used WCDMA you need to check your facts. Actually EDGE on Cinguliar has a higher speed than 1x-rtt on Sprint and Verizon. The only advantage EV-DO has over WCDMA is that it has been built out more because they got a head start. It is also cheaper for Sprint and Verizon because the equipment is the same just different software and chips. Cinguliar has more work. WCDMA actually is more advanced than ...
Re: Samsung M610
I have the blade and agree on looks but the blade lacks in certain features that are very attractive to me.
Sprint Mobile Email
Has anyone used the new Sprint Mobile Email application and had any success. Any time I try to set up an email address using the same settings in Outlook or AIM mail all I get is an error message reading "Error S7122: Mail server is not responding. Please try again later."
I have erased and re-downloaded the application and am still getting the same error. Just wondering if others are having the same problems or if ...
Re: Samsung M610, RAZR, KRZR, SLVR cables
I got the point just trying trying to put as much positive on it as possible. Still annoying. I don't believe the cable's come with the Moto phones either. I know not with the RAZR and KRZR haven't seen inside a SLVR box. It's about as stupid as stupid goes.
Re: Samsung M610
try Radio Shack they usually carry all of them
Re: SIRIUS Hits
Unlike the last poster I am not limited to $50 a month. I just never see a bill :D:D:D:D so I am already subscribed to all of the music channels and it really depends on the music you like. I prefer Rock and 90's music. My overall choice for the music is "Sprint Radio" it has more channels and has a better play list for what I like. If you need more info ...
Re: Samsung M610
What cable is it? Is it even commercially available? I know the D807 for Cinguliar had a really bizare connection is it the same as that?
Re: Need help putting music on my KRZR from my PC
To the best of my knowledge no one thus far has answered your question. If that is wrong please ignore. I have never used a Moto music phone but have had several Samsung and Sanyo models and they both work the same. For those phones you put the music in the Media folder, I assume it is in the Music folder for your Moto. The phone is picky about the file types that it plays. ...
Re: Moto Slver and Q on Sprint ?
Best Buy Exclusive until like March. You have to get it there I do believe.
Re: Where's VIDEO DIAL? Where's Videoconferencing ?
WCDMA and EVDV both support it, although it looks EVDV might be skipped for MiMax which would also support it. Technically Cinguliar can support it but I havn't heard if it is active or not.
Re: Sprint PDAs
I have heard mixed reports about the phone. Everyone I talk to seems to like the new samsung.
Re: Covergage Map
Make sure you Zoom in and have checked the box next to PowerVision (the orange color) by default it only shows the green and you have to zoom in quite a ways to make the orange come up. Almost to street level.

no, it does not mean that, unlocked and unbranded CDMA phones MSL is always 000000.
I agree with the unbranded part. If a phone were unlocked there would be no need for a MSL (master lock code) hence it's name. There is no such thing as an unlocked CDMA phone based on your definition, just ones where the lock code is known. Based on the definition of the original question (locked so that it could be ...
Re: Overseas Imports (Unlocked & Activated)
Everything that you said is correct except for the part that it cannot be added into the system later. This is not correct. It is actually rather simple to add it the problem is that they won't. Verizon tried it several years back with a sprint phone at it caused problems, first of all the phone will use whatever network comes first in the PRL, in the old case Sprint's not Verizon's causing high roaming use. ...
Re: Can I do this?
In that sense all cdma phones are locked and no, the definition implied in the original message would be locked from using on another carrier and no CDMA phone is locked from being able to do that.
Re: I have come up with some new slogans for Sprint.
I work for sprint and I agree that there is alot of Customer Service that is employed by Sprint, but yes there is a large portion that is outsourced to IBM. The funny part is that Sprint's Customer Service is usually ranked last when polled, but number one is always Virgin Mobile. And yes they outsource to IBM as well. Funny how life works. Outsourcing has nothing to do with quality, bitchy customers do. ...
Re: Can I do this?
There is no such thing as a locked CDMA phone. Any Verizon or Sprint phone can be activated by the other carrier, they simply just choose not to mostly because the default network in the phone is not determined by the Sim card but is preloaded in the PRL, and the other carrier is not going to rewrite the PRL so that it can be loaded in a few phones. Technically any CDMA phone with a ESN ...
Re: Can I do this?
The reason that you cannot simply buy an unlocked phone is because they run on a different network. They require a sim card to connect to a network and sprint does not use sim cards.
Re: mm-a920 question??
For anyone that is curious yes you can.
Re: Sprint Employees Please HELP!!
Sprint put in place a way to grandfather in customers so that they were able keep the $.10 per text message and at that point stopped allowing customers to cancel free of charge. What you should do next time is to have the customer service rep cancel your contract while on the phone but leave the account active until you port. Since this is hind-site and can't help you now my best advice is to call customer ...
Re: A question about text messages, etc.
What he is trying to say is that the 8100 is not a SMS capable phone. It must use shortmail to do any text messaging. Your friend would have to enable vision on his phone in order to be able to do it.
Re: 1 megapixel camera phones.
That is part of the problem.
Yes the audivox 8920 is coming soon, it is on rebate forms, the only problem is that the phone is having RF issues (go figure).
The Samsung megapixyl phone is the A700. www.sprintpcsinfo.com has lots of good details. basically it will stream video in and out allowing for PTT with video. True video conferencing is not available until ev-dv comes along with the ability to use data and voice simultaneously. I ...
Re: sprint gps
That is not true. The phones can do it now if they want to it is just really slow, it takes the phone several minutes to tell that you have changed places. Once they get it working better and faster it will become available.
Re: EVDV
I think most of you are missing the other part that comes with ev-dv. Voice coverage gets better as well. Sprint needs the better coverage and doesn't want to do ev-do and then have to upgrade to ev-dv. They are smart and have waited for ev-dv.
The other nice part about ev-dv is that it allows voice and data to be run simultaneously (VoIP already works but this is both working at once not one over the ...
Re: Question
The correct answer is that both of those are possible from www.3gupload.com.
Under there how to's there is the answer to make a .mp3 into a ringtone (can be done with .wav or .wma also).
As for pictures, save them as a .jpg file and upload them onto the website and they will help you put them on the phone.
Prepaid in Europe
I am going to Europe for two weeks in June and would like a prepaid phone for while i am there. Does anyone know who is the cheapest and how much they are?
Re: Can someone help me?
the law only says that prepaid carriers do not need to abide by the mandates of WLNP, if they do it is a bonus
Re: New Phones
mostly because SE decided to not make american cdma phones, and nokia and motorola do not make phones up to sprints quality for cdma
