Do NOT take your phone to a VZW Authorized Center for diagnostics or upgrade

👿 Just came back from a VWAC and I am fuming: I went in to get a speakerphone upgrade and they scratched up my phone. Not only that but they said they had swapped (as a complimentary courtesy - who told them to do that?!?) my battery with a worn-out (looking) and scratched one. What's worse is that they NEVER performed an upgrade (because I still don't have the speakerphone capability) and still told me that it was done - even though it clearly wasn't. The VW rep tried to justify the situation by explaining that the "speakerphone" feature is still not available to-date. While I still believe VW is the lesser evil in comparion to the others, I'm utterly disgusted by the lack of prefessionalism (or knowledge for that matter) from their...

It is offical - Speaker Phone

https://www.phonescoop.com/ »

Latest News:

Verizon will offer an update to enable speakerphone on the Chocolate. The upgrade will be part of a free software update that owners will be able to get by going into any Verizon store starting next week. Even though the Chocolate offers a number of advanced features, it did not launch with speakerphone capabilities, despite the fact that it is common on even the most basic handsets lately. Verizon does not yet offer over the air (OTA) updates, which allows users to patch oversights and bugs by downloading new software to the phone directly from the network. Sprint offers this capability on most their newer phones. 🤣

Key Lock?

I'm still in high skool. (Yep. Youngin here) I am a very serious cell phone power user. Always makin it do stuff it's not supposed to and all..... anyways, my issue is, I'm not suposed to have a cell phone in skool but I always leave it on silent. Never had a issue with the vx8000 making noise in skool. Music player even came on sometimes but no sound. The vx8500 concerns me very much of this issue. Is there a key lock switch or anything cauze if not, I'm stickin 2 the vx8300 as my next choice.

Bluetooth Visibility

I have a BT head unit in my truck and I recently bought the Choc. My old Cingy phones automatically connected to my head unit when I had the BT on. I made it so that the incoming security automatically connects to the Choc and the head unit but I still have to manually search for each. Can someone help me out? Thanks!!

MicroSD Door/Cover won't close flush

Does anyone else have this problem ...?

The door that covers the MicroSD slot on my 8500 sticks out on the side that has the rubber tether. Basically, the tether won't pull that side of the door back flush with the body of the phone.

I know, minor annoyance. Still, is this a common problem that I would likely encounter on a replacement phone? My phone is only a week old.

Speakerphone and/on Software Update Questions

I know that this update that came out has the speakerphone option included. Why didn,t the Chocolate have it at first? Also what else does this update do? I has to do something else other than the speakerphone fuction. They just wouldn,t make that update just for that. Does it fix that software bug problem. Did it upgrade software on the phone like the menu, ect...

Another thing, the Chocolates that are comming out later this year are going to have this update already installed.

No Chocolate for BMW now?

Recent posts are saying that Verizon hacked the Bluetooth SYNC profile out of the LG Chocolate? That's the only profile that BMW uses! I remember that Bimmer was the driving force behind Verizon adding SYNCH to the V710 1.0R firmware release.

I'd be baffled if Verizon dropped support for BMW, but, sure enough, it's not on the Verizon compatability matrix for that car.

Verizon is really going insane with what they are doing with Bluetooth Profiles. Every BMW is shipping with the BT module these days. While Lexus and Toyota have been battling with Verizon for 2 years to get phonebook transfer, now BMW is getting the shaft.

Anyone knows how to make the phone stop from "searching for service"?

I live in nyc and whenever I go into the subway the phone will keep searching for service. I think it drains the battery faster. My old lg phone will go into the safe mode but this phone doesn't seem to do it. Is there anyway to do that? Thanks!

Help!!! Problem while listening to music...

Hi Everyone,

How do you make the phone to continue playing the song by itself after answering a call? It is really annoying if I have to go back to the phone every time to play the song again after every phone call.

Also when there is a call coming in, there is no sound on the headset. Basically the song that I was listening just stop (that is how I know there is a call coming in) and I have to go back to the phone and start the song again. Is that normal?

Please help if anyone knows anything. If that's the way it is I am returning the phone!!!

Hidden upgrade agenda??

For anyone out there who has already received the upgrade, I want to know if there are any great features that are crippled. Such as, being able to save sounds from text messages as ringers.... I love this feature and do not want to lose it for speakerphone.. Its just a thought cause I know u usually don't get something for nothing..
