UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache

Hi,
I just switched from Treo 650 to this phone. It is great. I am looking for software that automatically switches phone/sounds off/on according to set schedule.
Does anyone have any recommendation? This is my first WM phone.

I just purchased the 6700 and am trying to figure it out. I use Yahoo and when I go to yahoo.com and select mail I see some buttons that you can't select. These buttons are SEND, FORWARD, TO, CC, etc. I don't see how to use yahoo on this phone.

Do I have to purchase some kind of mobile yahoo program or service?

Should I or can I link Yahoo to Outlook on the 6700 even though I don't use Outlook on my PC for email?

Is there a voice dial program out there for this phone?

Can you use a PC and this phone as a modem going through the EDVO network to access email from the PC and not the 6700 itself?

So many questions I know.

I am looking for a free application so I can send IM's tp AIM, YAHOO and other messaging services any help would be great.

I am researching a phone to use as my mobile communications device. My primary needs are:

1) Be able to work with 3 IMAP email accounts, sending and receiving, viewing picture attachments.

2) Chat on AIM and Yahoo chat.

3) Log into MySpace and send email or view profiles.

4) View google maps and mapquest directions while traveling.

Would be nice...

5) Sync with a Mac and use the phone as a modem for my MacBook.

6) Be a real GPS similar to TomTom

Keep in mind I will not be using the phone features at all, I have a RAZR which I am quite happy with. This will be DATA ONLY and used mostly inside my car or office for purposes 1-4 above.

I am considering Verizon because they have a high speed EVDO network here in Boston...

Thinking of getting this phone, I was just looking to see if Verizon was going to have any new pda/phone releases before I do, I didn't see any, anyone know otherwise? Ever notice how The other carriers have much nicer phones with more features? If it wasn't for all my friends being on verzion I would be gone!

I've heard different stories on this. Is there a way to limit the contacts that sync to the phone. For example, I may have 500 inactive clients in my computer Outlook. I surely don't need those on my phone. IS it possible to just load (sync) certain "categories" of contacts to the phone???
Any help is appreciated.

I use my xv6700 as a modem with my laptop. i am only able to get a connection speed up to 240kb. is this the max? is there a way to get a faster connection from it?

when i read the guys post on this site, for "how to use your xv6700 as a modem" he said at the end of his post that the speed will be around 600-700kb.

any info on this would be greatly appreciated...

so now, i'm trying to figure out how to set up customized ringtones...i transferred a couple .wav and .mp3 files to the phone, but i can't figure out how to set them as custom tones....any suggestions?

I have an VZW 6700 and am having a few problems.

1. I can not access my bank account website. I put in my account number and password and it just refreshes to the log in screen over and over.

2. At another website when i go to log-in it requires the log-in page to pop-up on a second window and again there are problems when i try to do that.

Any help on these situations would be appreciated.

I love cell phones and all but, it appears that I am not up on the specs as much as I could be. Would someone please tell me what firmware is? 🤨

I cannot seem to get my keyboard backlight to come on when it is slid out. I just got the phone yesterday, and it was working then. Any ideas?

last night the telenav site was updated with a version for the PPC-6700!!! the only catch is that it still needs a bluetooth gps receiver to work it. I was wondering if anybody has a way to get the hacked built in GPS on the phone to work, or if i will actually need to buy the $89 receiever to make it all work?

After synchronization, the network stays 'connected' even though it is no longer in use. The user has to manually go in and stop the data service via the comm manager. Is this a phone issue or network?

With the release of the Libra in January, do you think the 6700 will come down in price. if so how much. thanks

how cqan i get my phone to text me when i recieve an email? my 6600 used to text me. ive got multiple emails on my 6700 and i cant get them to notify me unless im on that email account. thanks in advance

1) I keep hearing about software upgrades, even Sprint reps tell me there is one that takes away annoying 'flight mode' and allows voice activated dialing, and adds a REAL key lock...but they cant find it anymore and i have been trying for weeks to find it!!! anyone know where it is?

2)I am trying to find an AIM program that uses text messaging instead of having to connect to the internet... i hate Argile becuase i cant recieve calls while on AIM...anyone know of a text based AIM program??

ALSO...what program do i need to download to do reg edits?

Usually, when i receive a call with my 6700, the blacklight turns on so i can see who is calling. Recently, the screen has been turning on when someone calls, but the blacklight doesnt. I have to turn it on manually everytime now. Anyone know how to change this? thanks!
