Camera LED Flash - BRIGHT!!

Wow, I am blinding people everywhere with the LED Light Flash on this 6700. I turn it on and its like a nuclear explosion occured. The whole room lights up! I point it at a person to take a piture and they have to squint their eyes its so darn bright!

Any way to turn it down a notch? I always use to complain how those led lights on camera phones were inadequate and useless and wished for a brighter light. Now I know I should have been careful for what I was wishing for.

KEY GUARD HELP!!!

Allright, I just got this phone yesterday and have been playing with it, but one of the most standard options on this pda is eluding me. Please tell me there is a key guard/lock on this phone, because I keep calling and opeining several screens on accident. There has to be a key guard on this thing right? I've gone to setting, buttons , everything. I called Sprint for tech support and the lady just informed me to take it to a sprint store because she couldn't find it. The only button I see close to this is the lock buttons when turned off key, and mine isn't doing that right now. ANy help would be appreciated. It is certaintly a deal breaker. Thanks

Dial-up Internet?

I just ordered this phone, I currently have a v710 with which I can use my PDA and dial the #777 number to get "dial-up" internet access. Can this be done with the 6700 for Verizon? I do not want to pay the $25 or even $45 a month for broadband internet. The dial-up speed will work just fine. Can this be accomplished without subscribing to a data plan? Thanks in advance!

Help! Media question!

While watching Smart TV, I selected full screen. It actually used the entire screen for the segment. Later I attempted it again and it went back to the normal full screen that is actually just a rotated picture. Any idea how to get it back to complete full screen? Please help. I've been trying for hours

Battery Life

I love this phone and all of its features but am really disappointed with the battery life. So I was wondering if people could share their tips for extending the battery life (settings, etc.) Here are the basic ones.

1. turn down the backlight brightness almost all the way down.
2. turn off the "receive all incoming beams" feature.
3. turn off backlight after 3 minutes of inactivity.

I'd really like to get to one full day of charge with average usage. I couldn't even get to one day with mostly just standby and a little usage. I do have it checking POP every 10 minutes, maybe that is eating up some power (but not sure yet if it actually checks this in standby mode).

Also does anybody know when the extended battery might c...

6700 vs. Sidekick

I am a Sidekick user. I have a love-hate relationship with my Sidekick.

Pros:
* Keyboard: Nothing else compares. I type a lot on it so the keyboard is key.
* Screen: It is a big and easy to read.
* Synch: It synchs wirelessly and all data is backed up on Danger's servers.

Cons:
* T-Mobile: The worst carrier around.
* Screen: It is not hot (i.e. no stylus capabilities)
* Software: Proprietary OS so limited software.

The cons are enough that I want to switch and I need to give hte phone back to my former employer.

Has anyone used both and is it possible to switch from a Sidekick to anything else? The keyboard is incredible.

Thanks!

Waking Rip Van Winkle

Ok, had this phone/pc for 5 days. Seems I've found a defective one. Sometimes it goes to sleep and never waakes up without a soft reset. Tried 2 hard resets as directed by the Verizon support staff without any luck. I still like the unit and will return it 1/21 for a replacement. Will challenge that unit as well.

Anyone else have similar problems???

Best screen protectors are modified PSP covers.

Why Wireless Sync w/ POP

My understanding of the benefits of wireless sync is that it will monitor a continuously running PC and push email out to the phone as it comes in. Is that a correct assessment?

In the setup they talk about setting it up for POP access. I already have Yahoo POP access working (even though it seems a little flakey). Why would I use it for wireless sync too?

thanks

Web sites customized for mobile browsers

One other thing i noticed was at the sprint store the internet explorer was not set up to show single column so everything required ridiculous amounts of scrolling to the right until i figured that out. My question is this. Have you found sites that are equivalent to the regular sites but cutomized for mobile IE? It may be a weird inbetween. Not completely dumbed down like the old WAP sites but more aware of the 320 or 240 widths? less flash and other crap.

How do you turn off the confirmations with the txt messaging?

I have searched the manuals and cannot find how to turn this off. When you send a txt message, you get both a sent report and a delivery report. Has anyone had any luck turning these off?
