Everyone relizes this has been released on Verizon right?

You can get it, easily guys, quit fighting over dates and prices. Just buy it. I've seen three threads this afternoon where people are still squabbling over details, its been here since monday the 9th, not the 19th.

RAM-Sluggish Performance

Overall-Love this device. I had the 6600 and the 6700 is much improved, especially that keyboard that fits your thumbs like it should. The one issue I have is the sluggish performance when flipping from regular mode to landscape mode. I also get the perpetual hourglass if I go too fast between tasks. Is MS Mobile 5 too much for this device. Is there anyway to add memory to these things?

Best bluetooth headset for this phone

I have the jabra 250, and well from a post i made on howardforums it seems that some bluetooth headsets suck with this phone. I wanna know what the best headset is available that'll work for the 6700. As far as quality, I did some tweaks and the other person on the line can hear my ac blowing like mad wind when its only on 1.

Waiting for this phone - a few questions

I know there alot of posts for this phone and they all probably answer all of my questions but i figure if i can ask them all in one space it saves time.

1) Keyboard - is it as bad as everyone says it is as far as opening all the time. Keys wearing away?

2) Does this phone cruise the internet decently without EVDO on verizons netowrk. I have verizon but do not have evdo currently in my area how is the speed.

3) durability of the phone as a whole - is it a solid phone or is it kind of cheap feeling like qwests model?

4) Last but not least, does this beat the 6600 as far as size and reliabilty, my old 6600 was a pile and i dont like it but i think i will like this one if anyone know the differences between the two?

thanks alot ...

6700 capabilities

Hey. I have a 6700 on the way with the Alltel service tomorrow. Few questions I have that remains in the air. WiFi, Does it use ur cellular minutes? Can u still recieve phone calls while on WiFi? Will I be able to be on the phone while online? Is there only certain types of programs that can be downloaded onto the phone (computer-phone not internet-phone)? If not, what kind? Are there few good games? thanks!

I am trying to set it up to sync through the cable through USB. but when i hook it up, Windows tells me it cannot find the drivers for my "PocketPC USB Sync" Anyone know where i can get this? I am using ActiveSync 3.8. I tried to upgrade to 4.1, but it says i need Windows XP SP2. I do not want to upgrade to SP2. 🙂 Any ideas would be helpful! Thanks!

Keyboard durability?

I was just wondering how does the keyboard hold up after use. It also looks that the keys on the keyboard seem to fade away after use. Has anyone had this problem withe the keyboard fading?

Peace!!

voicemail indicator

Can any user of this phone tell me about the voicemail indicator?

The samsung i730 would hide the icon in a bubble on the top to save room for multiple icons. It's hard to tell if there's voicemail because the indicator is buried in the bubble icon.

Does the UTStarcom PPC-6700 / XV-6700 / HTC Apache with WinMob5 show the icon by itself or not?

Thanks!

VPN

Does anyone know if this device will support a VPN client?

My employer uses Cisco VPN. Has anyone tried using it on this device?

Thanks for the help!

Gmail and Verizon Service

I know I can go to gmail and log in to check if I have mail but is there a way to have my phone either check it for me and/or just alert me when I have a new message?

So far I've figured on either using pocket outlook to run Gmail and have it open all the time and auto checking my mail every 10 minutes or so...

Or...

Keeping Gmail set to forward a text message copy to my phone for all incoming mail. This is however unreliable.

Is my idea with Outlook the way to go? Unlimited data is of course on the phone.

ps. Don't have it yet, but I will in a week or so.

How is it on Verizon's network?

Has anyone used it on the Verizon network yet? Just wondering if Verizon has some of the same issues that the Sprint folks have had.

Mac users - compatible?

Can you iSync? Can you transfer files via Bluetooth?

I'm pretty darn sure you can't tether your PowerBook to the Internet, right?

Are you going to be at a huge disadvantage running this thing w/ a Mac?

Endless Trouble Downloading

I took the advice given on this board, and tried downloading the free messaging service "Agile." I downloaded Agile from a free site, and upon finishing I recieved this message. " 'download' is not a valid Pocket PC application."

I run a Mac at home, so I don't have the ability to sync up outside of making the software purchase for The Missing Sync or others...that being said, I've tried endlessly to get a single MP3 file from my iTunes onto my Pocket PC.

On my mac, I attached the MP3 to an email...sent it to myself. Then, from my Pocket PC I opened the email and downloaded the attachment to which I recieved this response. "The file 'kanye' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its compo...

Just got the XV6700 Brochure at VZW store! See scans here!!!!

I was in the VZW store in NJ (Jersey City Newport Mall) today, and was looking around and picked up the latest brochure for PDA phones and Blackberrys and their services. Surprise to me! I discovered the XV6700 in it. I did a double take and was shocked. So I then asked the worker and he verified it will be in this week. WOooHOO! He also told me that it will be avail in store. That means no wait for business customers to get it first.

I scanned 2 pages of the brochure to share with you all.

Enjoy!

PS: I didnt see the Palm Treo 700W in it. I am a little baffled by that. Does this mean the 700W will be delayed?

6700 vs. i730 (or i830)

Anyone out there that has used both the 6700 AND the i730/i830 and would like to comment? I am headed for the i830 because I need the GSM support overseas, but the 6700 reviews are looking really good!

Software TIPS!!

Ok, I've had this phone for about a month and love it. I have been looking for software for a couple of days but haven't decided on any. I"m looking for voice command through bluetooth, Pocket DVD software, and really just other cool software that I haven't come across yet. So any suggestions??
