impressions

I've just qualified thru a sales incentive to recieve the a630 for free. Should come around Jan. so until then I'd love to hear some opinions from the folks who already have it.

How's the battery life? Can I leave BT on all day without killing it, or is it gonna be like my t637 where just a two hours on standby with BT drains half my battery? How's the speakerphone? etc.

I'm wondering if anyone has tried mating the A630 with a Bluetooth keyboard, such as the ThinkOutside Stowaway...

What's the point?

O.K. so I checked out one of these phones yesterday at the t-mobile store and I must say that by the looks of it, it looks perfect...Small size w/ a full qwerty keyboard...Bluetooth...speakerphone...etc. Sounds great...looks great...Now with that being said, I have one major gripe...why didn't they include windows mobile on this phone? or just some basic pda functions would be nice. If you compare this phone to the NEW MPx that is shown on this site, this is hands down the better platform. I already have a V300 and aside from the keyboard and bluetooth, the operating system looks to be the same.(sucks)
So tell me...what's the point?

Beware- seems crippled by Tmo

I picked up this phone from T-Mobile today, and signed up for the unlimited internet. The internet plan hasn't kicked in yet, but the good news is that it looks like you can use this phone as a bluetooth modem. This was my main worry about the phone- that they'd disable the BT serial.

Before I can tell for sure, though, I think I'll be sending it back. It turns out that they've disabled the Java App Loader- it doesn't seem like you can install *any* new software on the phone yourself. There's a "download games" option (which, right now, simply tells you Tmo has no software for this model yet). This will presumably get populated with games you can buy from Tmo for a few bucks. No thanks, I wanted to install the Reqwireless HTML brows...

Anyone w/the A630??

Does anyone have the A630? If so have you downloaded a 3rd party html browser, like Reqwirelss? I want some more info about it. Can someone tell me they have used that webviewer successfully and like it? Also do you know how to use the GPRS/Internet access method to connect? Help

Bluetooth & Speakerhpone Question...

I just got the A630 with T-Mobile today and so far I love it. I have two quick questions though if anyone knows the answer I'd be grateful.

1. What do I need to get it hooked up via Bluetooth with my computer? I want to start to transfer mp3's and games over to the phone. I can do that right?

2. Is there any way to activate the speakerphone without having it flipped open?

Thanks!

Help!!!

Can anyone help me out? I have the A630 and I was under the impression that you can browse the web w/it. I do not mean just the weak Tzones and wap applications. I want full access to the web, I have tried the Reqwireless Webviewer, and that is worthless. All I get is server busy or errors. I know if you go to extrason the phone, then office tools, it has an icon that says web access. From there it has another link that says www. where you can type in a URL. I get nothing but cannot access server. Also I have the TMobile Internet plan and Tzones. Please help, is there anything I can do, should I return the phone, if so, what phone would anyone recommend?? Thanks in advance for your help!

Good Concept, POOR DESIGN! I'll Pass!

I checked this phone out today at my local t-mobile store, and after all the hype about how this phone will have it all, it's too good to be true! The phone size is nice, I must admit, but if you have big fingers, you can hit all the buttons in one shot. I do alot of selling on ebay, and was counting on using the device for partial html webpage viewing and basic email. IT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!! The screen is the same size or smaller than a normal cell phone screen, which means it can't even display text or images normally visible on a cell phone browser. The important thing to keep in mind here is that it is a browser, not a full web page viewer, like the sidekick and blackberry. It is a cool little gadget to show your friends, but its not ...

This is Ridiculous

I gave up on this phone and went for the v551. The v551 is awesome i think i am much happier with this that I would have ever been with the a630. The a630 is a waste of time and i asked cingular if it was cancelled because it has taken so long and the rep told me he is unsure of the a630 status so far so i really dont know wut to believe anymore. edge and video capture over a keyboard seems like a good deal to me.

It's not bad at all.

Well even though i'm not a t-mobile customer, i decided to sneek in there and take a peak at the phone. So I did. The phone is very small but has all the same software like a v200 and up. I guess the only difference is that the camera was ok, it wasnt the greatest thing, but it was functional. the one thing that struck me was the outside 2nd display menu which took you to the phone book, messages, call log, and other things, and by this it would allow you to see small txt messages scroll by and some other stuff too.I mean i was impressed and then i wasnt impressed. I think if your on cingular dont rush to get one on t-mobile, unlock it and be able to do only two things with it, cause i'm sure the cingular version will be way better than the t...
