The a630 was in a music video...

Do you know which music video the a630 is in? It is in the Black Eyed Peas newest music video... "Let's Get It Started", that was made about a month ago. Way off topic but kinda cool, but i'm still waiting for another Moto phone, the v710. But this phone's awesome also.

Everyone have an awesome weekend. Cya

really excited

I'm really excited about this phone. I've been wanting to replace my v60 almost since the day I bought it and this looks ideal.

I've gotten HORRIBLE feedback from the manager at the local Cingular store about the v400/600 in my area. Supposedly the reception is non-existent, and while the features are nice it's not much of a phone. I'm really lookin for something with Bluetooth, but if the 600 is that bad then I'd rather wait. I'm also hopefully about to start working for Cingular and with my job as the only household income it'll be more likely that I'll use them to keep costs down.

Has anyone tested this phone in/around a rural area? Is it going to be worth my money when it comes down to it, or am I gonna want to chuck it in t...

just wonderin

Hi guys,

Just curious as to whether anyone's heard a few things:

1. obviously you have to open the phone for picture ID, but will that automatically activate the speakerphone, effectively screwing the purpose of caller ID?

2. Are there going to be any ways to alter the outward appearance of this phone like faceplates, etc.?

3. I've heard you can text and talk at the same time....GREAT!!! But when you close the phone does the speakerphone turn off? And is the close-to-hang-up option not on this phone?

Just wonderin about these few things. If anyone knows for sure I'd love to hear it.

Saw one a couple of months ago

I went to a launch event for the V600 and they had one of these there, this was back in I believe May. It looked pretty cool, but who knows. It was for T-Mobile so I wonder if that means that they are going to sell it as well as cingular.

by the way they only bought us 2 drinks and crappy appetizers!!!!!

I liked the a630...

the first time it came out... when they called it the Accompli. utter trash at $500 a pop. moto isn't doing it for me anymore now that I think about it. It's sad, I was a moto freak.

Operating System ??

Which OS does this device use Windows CE/Stinger, blackberry, Motorola proprietary?? Can it handle current Exchange Server and/or MS' new Titanium mail server?? This form factor looks great and leaning toward it as the Treo 600 OS is not stable, my current RIM BB is great but ackward to use as pda/phone.

Thanks anyone who can verify OS and Exchange.

Can you do e-mail on this - or just Text Messages???

Could I use this phone to send / receive e-mails? I'm sure I could always route my e-mail to my Text Message address - but will I be limited by some very small message size???

Is this like a blackberry with a better phone mechanism or is the keyboard for Text Messages only (no e-mail)?

Minor error in A630 specs

I recently tested the A630 and according to the manual, our own tech guys, and the moto representative, the A630 is a quad band gsm phone, not tri band.

Yeah, I know, that makes it all that more desireable!

Moto a630 For sale on eBay

Here's the link where this phone is on sale on eBay. It's probably an engineers model. I can wait until it's at Cingular to purchase. There's several pictures of it. The Qwerty keypad doesn't light up in the picture--only the screen.

sidekick rival

Good thing that this isnt on T-Mobile. Would probably kill business for the sidekick. I would like to get this myself...its small just like a normal phone and has bluetooth.... Only thing is that this would probably be a pain to get unlocked all the way if i wanted to use it on T-Mobile

By the way, anyone know how to unlock the browser and everything? I can never figure out how to get on chats or internet with my current phones

Odd.

Does anyone else think it an odd place to put the camera right next to the earpiece? But looking at it I've also noticed that if they put the camera on the back it'd be face down on whatever surface you chose to put the phone on while texting.
