What's the point?
O.K. so I checked out one of these phones yesterday at the t-mobile store and I must say that by the looks of it, it looks perfect...Small size w/ a full qwerty keyboard...Bluetooth...speakerphone...etc. Sounds great...looks great...Now with that being said, I have one major gripe...why didn't they include windows mobile on this phone? or just some basic pda functions would be nice. If you compare this phone to the NEW MPx that is shown on this site, this is hands down the better platform. I already have a V300 and aside from the keyboard and bluetooth, the operating system looks to be the same.(sucks)
So tell me...what's the point?

the point is, if you need a pda, then you buy a pda phone. if you need to text, you buy a a630. why load the ppc/ce software on this phone? the screen is too small to make it worthwhile, but as a text/email phone, it serves it's purpose well.

So tell me, how difficult would it be to combine the format of the A630 and the functions of the Mpx220? Essentially they are about the same size. The 220 would be vastly better with the 630 keyboard and the 630 would benifit from the 220's O/S. Does that make and sense?

yea, it does. but there would probably be a price jump, and i don't think this is supposed to be a hi end phone ( current price @ t-mobile is 199, after rebate). but i do agree with you, it'd be sick. but yea.

the only thing going for this phone, for it's $300 retail price, is it's size. it reminds me of the old 2-way pagers (talk-a-bouts i think they were called?) but with a phone and some extra features that are pretty cool. if this phone was at least $100 cheaper i think it would be great...but for $300 i think the sidekick 2 is a much better product crammed with a lot more and better features for the same price. sure it's a little bigger and bulkier but that's a small inconvience for the great screen size and keyboard. remember the old 'brick' phones???
