Samsung SCH-A670

I have the a670 but was thinking about switching to 7000 on 25th? I really just need good quality phone..I like the samsung but one thing that bothers me is how "dull" the external screen is..will the 7000 be similar because its color and not organic? Strange, I just left startac and, well those LCD black and white screens are very visible even when not lit...this is progress?
Also, when main screen backlight turns off during a call, it seems like phone is off when other person is not talking...miss the LCD that you could see was on without pressing a button to light it up.
Anyway, from a pure phone perspective, not camera, for those who have seen, touched, held 7000 and a670..which do you prefer? thanks

I am a young student who only uses my phone for about 5 hours a day, recieving a few calls. I like the idea of a picture phone but won't use it constantly. I've been looking into getting either the LG VX6000 or the Samsung SCH-A670. So far I've heard great and not so great things about both of the phones. Which one do you think I should buy? Thanks!! 😁

I was comparing this phone to a couple others on this website, and it didn't say anything about being able to assign specific ringtones for different users with this phone. I just wanted to make sure that you can in fact assign different ringtones for different users; can someone confirm this for me? Thanks a lot.

I notice that the A670 has an extensible antenna. Have you found that you need to extend it often?

How does the A670 compare in the way of ringtones? Besides the apparent 16 built-in ringtones, what can be uploaded to it?

Can the phone only hold 16 ring-tones? Can any ring-tones be deleted? Do the built-in ring tones sound better than what can be uploaded?

MIDI files are ok, but they don't sound all that great, do they? I would swear that some of the ringtones I've heard lately on some phones were actually WAV files--they sound that good to me, anyway.

I've heard that the battery on the A670 is not the best. I don't know a whole lot about cell phones. Standby time is the time the phone is on, but not being used, right?

Today, when I turned on my Samsung A670, and received a notification error that I received a text message, but it was rejected due to "Out of Memory" condition on my phone.

Has anyone else got that? I don't have much stored on my phone. I have 8 photos (hi res) and 4 ringtones that I downloaded, and no text messages stored as I had deleted the ones. I've never used picture message, or use pictures for caller ID. I have about 25 entries in my phone book. Seems like I should have more than enough memory to receive messages. I called Verizon tech support, and they adviced me to try deleting some of the 8 photos, and a few of the ringtones. That seems pretty bad---to have Get It Now, but only have 2 ringtones, and to have only 4 p...

hey,ive been going to websites and i havent seen one that has anything compatable with the A670

like,they all have a list of phones their games,real sounds etc are compatable with but i never see the a670!

i know its a newer model,but how do i know which games are compatable with it?

also,can the A670 have real sounds??

Hey guys, i just recently got my A670 and noticed that when i have a missed call the external screen says missed call but the phone does not beep every 2 minutes or so to let me know that I have a missed call waiting to get some attention. If there is anyway that this
option can be turned on or if you know for a fact that the phone does not have that option, please let me know. thanks in advance 🙂

Does anyone know if this phone uses a USB cable or what it does use to download the pixs and video to your computer and where to get it? Thanks

The native resolution of the screen is 128x160. If you upload a wallpaper to your phone of that size, it doesn't fit (i.e. gets scaled down width wise). If you take a picture with your phone at 640x480 and select it as a wallpaper is somehow scales it to fit magically. If you send a pic to your phone that is 640x480 is gets scaled all wrong and of course doesn't fit. I looked at the vzwpix site and it offers pics of size 120x160, but I've heard those don't fit correctly either. 😕

So, what dimesions are we supposed to create the wallpapers under???

Does anyone know where to get the data cable for this model? Also, what software do you need.

I saw one on ebay for the A610 that said it would fit, but didn't know if anyone else had tried it.

Also, once you connect the data cable is it a drag and drop type system?

Verizon Wireless will be launching CDMA and GSM compatible phone.. 2 in 1

when i got my phone i realized that for some reason i had no "get PIX" under my Get it now program. THere was "what new" "Get tones" "Get games" "get messaging" "get fun" "get going", but no "get pix" i was wondering if anyone knows why there isn't a get pix in my get it now program. I checked the user's manual, and under the section about get it now it said that there should be get pix under the get it now program. WHy isn't it there???

I've really been leaning towards getting the A670 but i've been checking out the VX7000 and I'm not sure which phone I should buy. Any suggestions? Also, does anyone know the price of the VX7000? Thanks....this forum rocks.
