Samsung SCH-A670

Everyday, I accidentally activate my camera while it's in the holster. Is there anyway to disable that button?

Can anyone reccommend an after-market holster that can fit a A670 with an extended battery and can allow the phone to open while still in the holster. I'm so use to my all StarTAc that allows me to open the phone w/out taking it out of the holster.

Does the a670 have tri-mode?

I have picture messaging activated on my phone - I tried sending out three pictures a while ago and they worked.

I sent myself ringtones through vzwpix.com (I am registered there), and I get a message, but it can't seem to receieve the message content - is there a reason for this? I followed the instructions to a T...so this is rather irritating. If you can help - thanks. 🙂

I've downloaded a number of midi files to use as ringtones and never had a problem until now. I found a midi file that I liked that was only ~20K in size. I can play it over and over again on my PC using Windows Media Player. But when I send it to my phone via a Pix message, it always arrives corrupted according to my phone. All I can do is delete it. I downloaded the original midi file to my PC again and played it in WMP again to make sure it really worked and it still won't download to the phone. Any ideas? AFAIK the midi file is a freebie.

I just got the a-670 last Saterday and i'm looking to transfer my pic's to the PC, add ringtones, add wallpaper to the phone, and all that extra crap.

ive been reading and playing around with the phone to come to the conclusion that there is no way to schedule recurring events. say i want to be notified of something every saturday at 1pm, do i have to enter this event in every saturday for a year?

also, sometimes i want to put events in past dates, but the phone wont allow me to. sometimes i just want a reminder to be able to look back to and see what i did that day. i cant believe the scheduler has neither of these functions.

also, anyway to add words to the dictionary?

Two related questions:

1. Is there a way to turn on Vibrate mode and also set the ring volume to the highest at the same time? Currently when I set to it vibrate and ring mode the ring volume is set too low. Sometimes you need everything the phone can give you in trying to tell you that you've got a call.

2. Is there a way to have the phone ring and vibrate at the same time? In vibrate + ring mode the vibration happens first for a few tries and then the ringer starts going off? I want them to both happen at the same time and as soon as a call comes in.

stand by is 168 = 7 days

my phone doesnt even last half a day.. am i opening and closing it too much, or does anyone else have this problem

i just got this new A670 two days ago. I had a vx6000 which got jacked.. i knew a trick on that were u can record any song with a picture message then close the phone, and the pic message saves with the song, ( or you can send it to yourself and have free ringtones ) for this phone.. i send the pic message to myself but everytime i try.. it says retrieved failed or something like that.. why cant i get pic messages

You go along entering stuff in the Scheduler until it says, "I'm full", and yu only choices are erasing EVERYTHING (past and future) evetns, or painfully opening each one and deleting ????

Is there a way to get it to deleted past events automaticcly.

If I have to deleted everything, or each one individually, it's useless.

Hi all!

i'm trying to program my phone so that when I call my home and my answering machine comes on, that the code to retrieve messages is already stored into the phone. I tried the "T" pause and my phone didn't like that when I tested it...

I want to use the "P" pause, but the directions say something about the phone waiting for a command...what prompt is it waiting for? I don't get this....HELP!

Does this phone have a little light on the front that blinks..the service light usually like red or green..? My LG doesnt have one and i'd like one..thanks!

I have been using the schA670 for about 3 months and it has been great other than the dust issue that we all know about.
I have recently began hearing from my contacts that they cannot hear me and every-other word is going in and out. My serivice is fine, 2-3 bars at least and I have done the monthly *228 update. Any ideas whether this is hardware issue or somehting in my service?
I treat the phone really well so there shouldn't be anything wrong, it has never once been dropped even. thanks*

I thought that it would be possible to set up my contact list on my computer and send it to the phone somehow. The Verizon salesperson said that I could do that if I had webmail, for which I signed up when upgrading to the 670.

I can't find anything in the manual or the quick reference booklet about how to do it, nor is there any mention of this capability on the CD-ROM.

Help!?!?!

Based on the reviews most everyone knows that that the Motorola v710 was a poor implementation of a much desired Bluetooth phone for Verizon and that the Samsung a670 is a great example of an all around solid phone. So I propose a compromise. Awhile back Motorola release a battery add-on for one of their phones that also had added Bluetooth to it. If Samsung packaged a battery/Bluetooth module for the a670 it would sell great and add to a670 sales.

Of course this is all just a pipe dream, but Verizon's lack of descent Bluetooth support forces me to vent my thoughts.

Has anybody used all 3? Could you compare? Does the 670 enable voice-activated dialing by pushing an external button? I didn't see a side button to do so at the store? What else is more ideal or less ideal about each phone? I'm not concerned with the bells and whistles. Basically, I want a phone that has a visible display, is comfortable to use for a bigger guy, has voice-activated dialing, a good layout of buttons both internally and externally, and will fit in my pocket well.

Is this possible? Where can i figure out how to send pictures for free to the computer?
