my 15 days are almost up....should i keep this phone or go witht he motorola v710? anybodyplease help

This is probably stupid but i saw a USB cord for the a670 advertised on ebay, but i cant see where you would plug in a usb cord?? is it the same place where you put the charger in the phone?

is text messaging free on this phone? because i heard that if u have ne phone, where the carrior is verizon...your text messaging is always free.

i accidently deleted one of my personally made ringtones and now it says inactive.. but which one is inactive.. everytime someone calls.. its not the one i choose.. grrrr.. anyone who knows more about ringtones help me out.. i hate this phone! 👿

Has anyone used the extended battery? I'd like to know how it compares to the standard battery in terms of battery life and if it requires less frequent phone charging.

will verizon make a mobile im available for this phone?is there any other way i can get it from verizon?

Can I get MObile AIM on this phone? deos this phone have it in the GIN apps or is it available for download?

I have call waiting and I have 3-way calling. Say I'm on a call and I get an incoming call waiting beep. Is there any way to combine those two calls into a 3-way call? Or do I have to call the 2nd person back in order to start a conference call?

Now ive had this phone for 8 months now and have came across something weird when i was going through the menu.

If you go to option #5(mobile web) then switch to option #4(get it now) you'll see something crazy.

On the mobile web screen youll see a comet flying towards earth then you switch to the get it now screen, youll see that comet screech across the sky towards the earth and the sky lights up as it reaches hits the surface.....

anybody else have any ideas

I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING THAT GOES WRONG WITH YOUR PHONE BY DOING THIS MODIFICATION. FOLLOW THESE STEPS EXACTLY AND DO NOT PLAY AROUND IN THIS MENU UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!

That being said, I did this and compared it with another a670 ringer volume and it was definitely louder. The value that you are changing is basically a multiplier for the volume settings.

1) Type in 47*68#13580 into your phone (Don't press #29 at anytime, it will kill your phone)
2) Type #99
3) Scroll down to "CMX QSYNTH" in that menu
4) Adjust the volume by typing 012
5) Hit the OK button on your phone
6) Type #02 to restart your phone
7) Adjust the volume to 3 or 4 b/c 5 will probably damage the phone.

There is a NEW firmware update for the Samsung SCH-A670, released today. Not all of the stores may know of it, but it IS out there (I got it today). Just ask the techs at the store when you go in.

The new firmware version number is XJ06. It has gobs of bug fixes for the browser, ringers, instant messaging and all kinds of stuff. Pictures and videos with the camera are greatly improved in detail and quality, with another update due out soon to do video messaging.

The update takes about 45 minutes.

Thought everyone would be interested in this.

Can someone please help me out? I have figured out how to customize pictures for contacts, but I also want to customize ringtones as well. I am not able to figure out how to do this. Also, someone commented that the battery will last longer if the GPS is turned off. How do I do this? What are the pros/cons of turning it off. Thanks so much!

does this phone have ringer ID?

so i got this phone about a month ago and i was sitting down and it fell out of my pocket and completely broke into two pieces, the top and the bottom. Verizon can't do anything for me so now i am left with no phone because how crappy this phone is made.

I know that this is a common problem but will this affect the phone in any way?
How do you know when it is not normal?

I admit to being fairly new at this, but so far I have had NO luck getting my own ringtones to my Samsung sch-a670.

I've tried storing them on my on WAP server, I get the 406 Not acceptable error. I've tried eringers.com, tried going directly to the site to download a tone, get the same error. I've also followed the excellent step-by-step instructions on the eringers site, saved the tone to my PC desktop, but when I try to attach the midi file to a pix message at Verizon's PIX Place site, I get an error saying the file is not in an appropriate format.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

i just got a new a670 tonight.

i only played with the camera function

and i pressed down the # button for a few seconds and it locked the phone.

and i tried to unlock it.

it says "invalid lock code" -.-;;

i tried 0000 and i tried the last 4 digits of my number.. none of them work.. i tried all the number i could think of.. not working

i didn't go into the security menu to change the password before.. it's just a brand new setting..

does anyone know why and what i should do? ;a;

How tight are the hinges on the a670? Mine is brand new and you can wiggle the phone a tiny bit back and forth. Also, there seems to be a little more room where the top part of the phone attatches to the bottom on the right side at the hinge. Are these things normal or cause for concern? Please Help!!

I had the vx6000 for almost 2 years ajnd it finally broke in half...Verison Wireless's insurance company (Asurion) is shipping me out an A670. Anybody who has one that had the vx6000? which do you like better?

BTW...cell phone insurance sucks buttermilk. When you take the $5/month for almost 2 years plus the $50 deductable, you can buy a new friggin' phone. 🙄
