BIG BAD NEWS !

😈

My friend at ATT just read me a memo from corporate that stated that the V600 phone had failed the internal software testing at ATT corporate labs.

The software was still buggy and ATT did not feel comfortable releasing the phone to their customers in its current state.

At the time of the memo, ATT was awaiting an update to the phone software and did not believe the V600 would hit the stores for at least another 2 months! 😳 😳

Hopefully this is bad info....but I have trusted everything this guy has told me in the past.

Ordering the V600 online from ATT?

I am so excited to get my hands on a new V600!
Right now I'm using my old old Motorola Timeport...I had a v60i but I punched my thumb through the screen, twisted it in half, and threw it at a brick wall, I guess I have what some might call an "anger problem!" haha So after I broke that phone, I reactivated my old Timeport and have been holding out on buying a new phone because I want the V600 really bad!!!
Does anyone know if the V600 will be sold online at the ATT online store starting on the 16th? That's how I was planning on buying the phone. Can anyone give me some reassurance that it will be sold online by ATT on the 16th? Wouldn't this be the fastest way to get the phone when it comes out? Rather than trying to track th...

V600 vs Smartphone

I was excited about the Moto Mpx200, but am more excited about the V600. One issue I'm pretty fuzzy on is what limitation the V600 might have since it doesn't use MS Smartphone o/s. What will I miss by not having Smartphone?
Will "sync ML" allow the v600 to download my Outlook contacts?

Any other comments on smartphone vs. v600?

Thx.

February 16th confirmed again

I called our national corporate account number again to find out the status of this phone. I told him I was looking to upgrade to the GSM service, but I was waiting for a certain phone. He asked which one, I said the Motorola V600. He responded without hesitating that phone will be released Monday, February 16th.

Finally!

unlccking a phone...how and what are the implications?

Newbie to this. V600 won't be at my carrier till probably April. How easy is it to buy a v600 from at&t and get it unlocked? Will my carrier know it's unlocked and will that be a problem? Can I just pop in my SIM card from my current phone and it will work? Thanks for any help you can provide!

CREDIBLE info for the last friggin time....

The official NATIONAL launch date is February 16th for AT&T Wireless .

The prices are as follows:
No service agreement: $369.99
1 year agreement: $339.99
2 year agreement: $299.99

The phone to my knowledge comes locked. There are no offical announcements that make it availible for any other carrier. No corporate discounts will be immediatly availible, and there will be no other mail in or additional rebates immediatly availible. (By saying that I know in the future, even possibly recently that may be true, I'm saying for right now).

If people in Chicago get it early, hurray for them. Motorola is based in Illinois. But even then until I see something official or even pictures of 5 or 6 different people with the phone I j...

I gave up, got SE Z600

Yes, I know i'm speaking blasphemy here 😉 , but I just decided it wasn't worth the wait. The V600 is going to be expensive with a contract, and even more if you try to get it unlocked on ebay. On top of that i've heard a few people come on here and say the v600 is kinda buggy. I've had the Sony Ericsson Z600 for a week and love it. It doesn't have a speakerphone and the camera sucks, but other than that its an awesome phone.

WOW!!!!! Bluetooth question

I need to know for a fact that the bluetooth feature on this phone can connect to a laptop w/ bluetooth. I know the answer to that one already but this is the real question----I NEED to know if I can connect to the Internet with my laptop through this phone. I need to use it as a modem, is this possible?? If so please provide link and/or source of info.

Saw V600 Commercial in Mpls/St. Paul Market Yesterday

I saw the V600 ad during the Pro Bowl yesterday in the St.Paul/Mpls market. I did not see it like other markets did during the superbowl, but they finally showed it during this game.

I'm still betting on February 16th.

It will be interesting...

To see who starts getting their V600's first. So many people swear up and down the phone is released to day. I still believe that while it WILL hit warehouses and be availible for ordering, no one will get the phone first hand today. But who knows in this crazy day and age?

When you guys get the phone, start posting some pictures!

AT&T Logo

Has anyone seen the AT&T logos on the V600? Can you get rid of them by changing the cover on the phone? I love the phone, but hate service provider logos. They make the phone look cheap.

Ebay - What's with people selling links to get V600 for $35?

On Ebay I've seen a ton of people selling "information" on how to get a new unlocked V600 (or other phones) for $35. What the heck is up with this? Does anybody know what this scam is all about?

V600 Tentative for Cingular Wireless

I just found out an interesting fact. Cingular Wireless is going to carry this phone tentatively in late March. This should be another indication that AT&T and Cingular are going to merge. The equipment both companies offer and frequencies offered for GSM are very similar. I work for Cingular Wireless and this was an interesting tidbit to discover.

Save your time ... no v600 today.

I was one of the first customers at the earliest opening AT&T stores in Chicago today - although the Chicago Tribune said that the v600 was available today in stores, the rep at the store said they didn't have any v600s and weren't expecting any for another 2 weeks!
